"Hooray! It's almost July! No more shovelling snow in Toronto!"
It's actually been decent around here lately. A couple of weeks ago it was in the mid 90s with high humidity. i just wanted to curl up and die.
Thank god for air conditioning.
I hate the heat. Funny that we are considering moving to the south in a few years. But all the houses have central air, so it could be 400 outside, and we could keep it a nice 68 :D
I put a pool in last year so i'm just waiting for the Africa heat.Suppose to heat up nice this weekend.:D

Well it's getting pretty sweaty here in Los Angeles too. And here is my little trick for you folks, this is what I do when it's frighteningly hot and you don't have some killer air conditioning system in your pad (or you have one but can't afford to turn it on).
"THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON" (1954)
DVD, VHS, it doesn't matter what format you have this film on. But this movie helps with the temperature! It doesn't actually make the room cooler, of course. But all the water imagery and the sounds of water promote a cooling effect psychologically. Plus, the creature has a clammy look to him, and he looks pretty comfy. It helps take your mind off the crazy weather.
It works people!

You know what I like, when you do a barbecue and you throw those long onions, leeks or whatever they're called, on the fire and they sizzle and blacken and when you serve them with your other foods they have that stringy quality and that deliciously subtle bitterness. Maybe just a little smidgen of salt on one is nice.

It's always between 85 and 95 here but the humidity puts about 10 degrees extra on so it's more like 95 and 105.

It doesn't really get that cold in New Orleans..sure there's a 35 degree day every now and then but for the most part it's just hovers around 55 which to me anyway is pretty comfortable.

I believe you, I've been to Toronto in March and it was cold. Down here it gets so damn hot that when winter comes around and it's consistently around 55-60 for a couple months it's pretty nice. I don't know what a real winter is but I sure as hell know what a real summer is and that's why I just prefer it cool.

Allllright!
It's been in the high 90's and my central air is on the blink! Repairman will be here in the next "few" days. In the meantime, I guess I better get used to sitting in a puddle of sweat. How in the hell did we ever survive without A/C?

Well, I wasn't exaggerating about the 10-15 bucks...the pools in the richest suberb of Chicago, a couple towns down from mine, and if I'm going to raise $15 I'd rather spend it on a DVD or something and sit in my FREE ice cold watered bath tub. Haha.
Point is $15 of hard earned cash for a couple of hours in a giant pool concentrated with toddler piss and rat fescies just isnt worth it to me.
