Okay, i know every couple of weeks something sets me off and i start one o fthese, so no one should be surprised.

An annoying personal habit that one of my co-workers has is punctuating his sentances with the phrase "You know?"

this is no exagerration:
"You know? I was looking fo rsome software, you know, and i couldnt find it. Then you, you know, told me where it was, you know, and i couldnt believe how easy it was, you know, to find. It had been there, you know, for ever, and i forgot. You know, i was looking all over the place, you know, cnet, you know and sps. but you know, uh you know, you know, i remember now that you like to keeop things simple.:

and as he turns back to his desk...
"You know"

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

SHUT UUUUUUP!

Jesus christ! i just want to fucking choke him. he is basically a nice guy, but once he gets going, he fucking rambles, and it's like he is using "you know" to prevent oythers from cutting in, like he is making a wall of words so that he can keep charge of the conversation. I want to stab him with a pen....

I hate when people ramble you know, and they just never stop you know, It really gets on my nerves you know, I just can't stand it you know. Well anyway you know have you ever brought it up to him you know like why he always say you know all the time you know?

he's one of the people i have informed that "irregardless" is incorrect and that the word is "unselect" not "de-select", and he goes right back to doing it.

You can teach an old dog new tricks, but you have to beat the stupid ones....

My boss peppers his conversation with "and everything else"....i.e.."I went to the store, and everything else to pick up some supplies."
Sometimes you will get a double "and everything else."
"I was on my boat this weekend, and everything else, and everything else and sailed to Block Island"
Needless to say we have fun talking behind his back.

It's kind o flike muzak their brain plays when they cant complete a thought. Either that, or the record in their brain has a scratch on it.

I am stuck in the eighties. I say, "like" a lot. I know it drives people nuts. Instead of "whatnot" I tend to say, "and such."

"and such" beats "and whatnot" any day. It actually has a real meaning to it. "Whatnot" isnt even a word.

Well. you know, I used to do that sort of thing with "you know." All the freaking time too! Several times in a sentence, all the time, every conversation. And nobody bothered me about it but the thing was that at some point I noticed that I was doing it, and it started to drive ME nuts.

So I sort of observed myself whenever I was doing it and figured out why I was doing it (it turned out I was stalling while I thought of other things to say), and then I put an effort into stopping myself whenever those 2 dreaded words were about to be spoken.

After just a few months, I had broken the habit. But now I have a problem with "sort of." Sort of this, sort of that. It's sort of a horror movie and sort of not. It's sort of a Mexicali-type restaurant, et cetera.
