there are a couple of directions 'filmmakers' go in when they cant think of anything interesting to do - remaking classics - and horror porn.

i havent seen it - i saw the ISOYM link and it looks even worse than it sounds...

fucking people will try to justify absolutlely anything as art either to be perceived as 'cutting edge' or as a way to validate their own pathetic sensibilities.
