Awesome gory, horrifying and hilarious 1985 Sci-fi horror comedy cult classic about a medical student named Herbert West that brings the dead back to life with a serum with the help of a fellow student but the results are deadly especially when bringing back a dead decapitated teacher to life as he wants the formula to himself so he can have an army of zombies.
The film is based on a H.P. Lovecraft story and the film is filled with nudity and gore galore! it's a cross between E.R., Evil Dead, Day of the Dead, Frankenstein and Cannibal Holocaust, a most recommended movie for horror fans and a must have!

I've seen the movie and read the story and can say that there was nothing wrong with the making of that movie... I don't think he cheapened it at all. It's not like he was remaking TCM or House of Wax :D
...But in all fairness the remake of TCM was pretty good.

In my opinion, it sucks. But that is only my opinion and it is probably biased because I love the original TCM so much. :D
Anyway, I love Re-Animator. Both Lovecraft's and Poe's stories tend to be butchered when made into films (sometimes I wonder how they had the nerve to put Poe's name on the movies they made). I certainly don't have a problem with this film because of that, because it is fun and completely appalling. Qualities I enjoy in a film. ;)

Beyond Re-animator is not terrible infact i found it to be more entertaining then the original. The original however is a classic i dont think its as entertaining as the sequals. Bride is also very enjoyable but i.m.o. Beyond is the best. Either way all 3 should be seen

Beyond isnt the best as far as acting goes but theres some good zombie stuff and some great dark humor. Definetly worth seeing if not owning

But how can some of you not like this movie? i think it's one of the best hardcore horror movies there is and definitely will offend mainstream audiences!
Beyond Re-Animator was enjoyable, i have the original on DVD with Bride & Beyond Re-Animator. What if they did a remake of "Re-Animator"?
For anyone who enjoyed this movie, i also recommend: " Evil Dead 1 & 2", "Cannibal Holocaust", " Day of the Dead", " City of the Living Dead", " House By The Cemetery", " The Beyond", " Scanners", " Dead Alive", " Demons", " The Toxic Avenger", " Maniac ( 1980)", " Blood Diner", and Hershell Gordon Lewis's movies.
