The article below was taken from Creature Corner, and I've seen it nearly mirrored on Dread Central among others. Please review this film, if you have the time!

This interesting little tidbit crossed my desk this afternoon. Seems that a gentleman by the name of Dean Lachiusa has kind of re-edited GAR’s original Night of the Living Dead. I am sure that a number of you are aware of the fact the Romero’s original version is public domain which means that anyone can pretty much do whatever they want to it. Okay that might be simplified a bit but you get the idea of what I am trying to say. Basically the film is up for grabs for anyone who wants to mess with it.
That is why you see copies of it everywhere. Hell, I found a version of it at a check out lane at Wal Mart over the weekend for a dollar. It is really a shame that such a wonderful piece of cinema history can be hustled for a buck at the local discount store.
Anyway, Mr. Lachiusa has taken things in a bit of a different direction by adding a new beginning and adding all kinds of new ideas. For instance we now learn about Barbara and Johnny via some flashbacks and there has been some added radio broadcast info that has been added that in my opinion adds a ton to the film and is surprisingly effective.
Lachiusa has named his version Night of the Living Dead: Survivors Cut.
Along with the aforementioned added footage Lachiusa also applies an interesting use of color to enhance the story. What he has done is to at critical times tint the screen different colors. You really have to see it to understand but believe me when I tell you that it only adds to the film. It seems like such a simple idea and yet when the film is viewed with these changes it is almost like watching a different film.
The film is available now in Real format and can be downloaded by following the link below:

It is available as a streaming video or you can download it to your desktop. I would recommend downloading it to the desktop, as Real streams can be choppy.
I have contacted the director and should have much more in depth info for you on this soon but in the mean time head on over and check this out. It really is worth your time.
