Okay, my inner cynic is taking over. He is the only one with any energy left today...
this is something that didnt matter years ago, but does now. When i was single and always bored, the internet existed for 2 reasons (to me):
Video Games and pornography.
These days, i dont bother with porn, and although i play video games, im not out hunting for mods or patches any more than once every month or two. Plus, now i own a website.
Now, for my articles, i try to get the most accurate, up-to-date, correct info that i can. The problem is, there are 1 or 2 actual stores or real information on any given subject on the net, the rest is useless bullshit, incorrect information, websites with 1 picture and no info, or porn sites that have added every word in the dictionary to their page in orsder to increase hits. The result?
Well, oustide of pissing me off, it is also exceedingly difficult to use the internet as an information source, which, if i remember correctly, is it's actual purpose for being in existance.
anyone else experience this? Hours and hours of clicking links to get 3 sentances of information?
I mean for gods sake, search engines ar edamn near useless. try searching on "insects that spray", referring to several types of ant and stick insect that have chemical defenses that they spray at attackers. i never knew there were so many brands of bug spray out there, or so many site son how to use them (which isnt really nevessary. they print instructions on the bottle. And if you have to read them AS you use it, then you should not be handling hazardous chemicals.)

I get this. I run a search for one particular thing and get every damn thing under the sun but what I'm actually looking for. When I do find what I'm looking for the websites are usually more than useless.

no it's true ...
it's the dead links that drives me nuts ....
there is a lot of internet waste and clutte out there because it isnt managed properly. (it would be quite the task to manage it)
although i'm always amazed that search engines pick up dead links .. i know there's a pretty simple reason for it (it would be too slow to check them while searching) but it's maddening.
its the pop ups that drive me crazy more than anything else .. every single useful page (not just Vods porn) has them now.

:p to you all.
but, urge, what OS are you using? Windows XP with service pack 2 does a great job of blocking most of that shit.
i have been trying to find pages with any info at all on something i once saw on tv. it was an oversized bee in africa that has been nearly wiping out the native honeybees in the south eastern countries (i believe). I cant find shit on them, just endless pages with the same story of how killer bees got loose.
I think that is the most irrirtating part, there is usueally one decent resource on anyu given subject, and then 1000 of them that have ripped that site off.

Some chickens crossed the road, straying far from the hen
Five reached the side one step below zen
One was a female, four were mad-men
Who moved on, moved on move on
Standing in line and falling asleep
Building a fence while we?re counting the sheep
We?d let you help out but our projects are too deep
Move on, move on, move on
You have to understand that when it comes
To making music
We meshed the styles of five alive and
Intertwined and fused it
Life comes from life and through our strife we
Strove to make the sound true
Compelled to spell it out, in search
Of what we must do
Our house was to small so we had to move
The neighbors had much doubts so we had to prove
That our soulful dimensions were true to the groove
We, moved on, moved on, moved on
Water the music, plant the seeds in the pot
Music is life flowing through... is it not?
Don?t forget your roots, but also don?t rot
Just move on, move on, move on don?t be afraid, let your
feelings show
Wear your heart on your sleeve, and let yourself glow

either that song is called move on as a not so subliminal hint for me to move to XP - or a pipe burst in his melon :D
