Hi guys. I'm new here, and I'm a big fan of the original Night of the Living Dead. IT's what got me into horror in the first place. I like horror movies of all kinds, and from all eras. Other favorites of mine include Day and Dawn of the Dead, The Others, Bride of Frankenstein, Carnival of Souls (the old one, not any remake), Freaks, almost any Hammer horror, Return of the Living Dead (the ifrst one, the sequels aren't as good but still fun in their own way), Stir of Echoes, The Changeling, and too many others to list.

Horror television is fun too. I'd have to say Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files, Carnivale, and Tales From The Crypt are my favorite horror shows to watch.

I also enjoy horror books, especially short stories. I religiously buy The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror series, and I'm also a big fan of Poe, Lovecraft, Ambrose Bierce, Hawthorne, and others.

I'll be good for a book review every now and again. I've already posted several in the Books section. I'll also have comments from time to time on movies. Sorry to make this so long. Now that I've intorduced myself I'll start acting more like a newb and just shut the hell up for awhile. :D

Thanks. Yeah, I've seen some of the other newbie threads. I don't care, no big deal. I've been a part of enough horror fan sites to know the drill.

I like to rub my nutt sack with Andrex Aloe-Vera and Vitamin E moist toilet tissues. It makes me feel fresh and horny.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been well-schooled in the forums at HorrorDVDs, Fangoria, Rue Morgue, The Horror Channel, Horrorfind, and UHM. I'm surprised i took me so long to find this one. I mean horror.com is about as obvious as it gets. You can chalk that one up to me being a dumbassed newb! :(

You seem cool enough...you have a good taste in movies AND books...you don't take things personally...

...what the hell's wrong with you?

You'll like it here...

P.S. It's nice to see another Poe fan, he is the most incredible writer (neck and neck with King for me). I just visited his house in Philidelphia about a month or so ago...very interesting.

Thanks. My friends ask me the same question. ;) Yep, I've liked Poe for as long as I can remember. Did you see my post talking about Kim Newman's story "Just Like Eddy"? I got a kick out of that.

It was in the Edgar Allen Poe thread. It was a P.S. at the end of my post.

Ahh, yes, now I remember. What're some of your favorite Poe stories/poems etc.?

The Cask of Amontillado was the first Poe story I ever read, and it remains a favorite. Masque of the Red Death, Hop-Frog, The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Fall of the House of Usher are also very, very good. Honestly, I like most of Poe's stories and a good number of his poems. He is definitely my favorite horror author, living or dead.
