Woman, 70, survives Nine-Story Fall

An elderly Florida woman falls nine stories -- and lives.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida -- A 70-year-old woman survived a nine-story fall from a condominium tower Wednesday when she landed on a canopy, officials said.

Gloria Jummati was cleaning her balcony at Coral Ridge Towers when she fell and landed on a first-floor canopy, according to the Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue.

Jummati was alert and talking when rescuers arrived.

She was transported to Broward General Medical Center with a broken arm and other non-life-threatening injuries, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

See mandolin? God exists and has a wicked sense of humor. 12 year old turns his head, hits his temple against a corner and dies. 70 year old woman falls 9 stories, gets a broken arm.

Keep it comin', big guy.

Another disadvantage to being fat eh? The bigger they are, the harder they fall. :D

A 9 story fall would usually be fatal at any weight/age though.
