*******THIS STORY IS A HOAX...Debunked By MurderDoll*******
Cambodian Troops Quarantine Quan'su
Cambodian troops moved into Quan'su after Malaria victims attack populace.
There has been a small outbreak of “zombism” in a small town near the border of Laos in North-Eastern Cambodia.
The culprit was discovered to be mosquitoes native to that region carrying a new strain of Malaria which thus far has a 100 percent mortality rating killing victims in fewer than 2 days.
After death, this virus is able to restart the heart of it’s victim for up to two hours after the initial demise of the person where the individual behaves in extremely violent ways from what is believed to be a combination of brain damage and a chemical released into blood during “resurrection.”
Cambodian officials say that the outbreak has been contained and the public has no need to worry.
General Ary Serey had this to say, "We have obtained samples of this new virus and plan to learn how it starts the heart and other major organs of the deceased. We intend to use this to increase the quality of life for all."
US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice opposed the plan saying that the Cambodian government holds a great biological weapon and should destroy it immediately. Cambodian officials have yet to comment.
A United Nations team will be dispatched to Cambodia to confirm the safety of biological research in Cambodia.

IF this is true...and I don't care to comment on whether I think it is or not, because the inprobable/impossible is only that way until something proves otherwise....

- But...that sounds like a potentially very bad idea...of course, would make for some good watching

Here is the actual, original story...Reported by the BBC:

This is the only ACTIVE link that I can still find to the original story...If you can't pull it up, let me know, and I'll find you another way to retrieve it...
There were also reports in a South Asian newspaper...But, I can't retrieve those now...I should have kept them while I had them...I'll keep looking if you need more...Just let me know ;)
Here are some of the current discussions about it at various places:

Well...I wanted to stick around for a while and see how this pans out, but I can't find anything else about it at the moment and my guy is beginning to feel neglected...
So...If you guys discover anything new, let me know...
If it's a fake...It was pretty good...Gave us something to talk about, think about and maybe even hope for ;)...and that would explain why the other 2 'news' links that I had found just a few hours ago, are now mysteriously unable to be located...
If it's real...It's pretty cool...
I was actually kinda thinking that if it was real, the people probably weren't actually dead to begin with...There are chemicals than can mimic death, even slowing the heartrate to imperceptible levels, tetrodetoxin (found in blowfish) is the most well-known, and insects can produce many strange chemicals (especially ants), as well...So...I figured, the people only appeared dead...Then after a few hours, had appeared to 'come back' in the last stages of malaria-induced delerium...then really died after a couple of hours...That's how I rationalized it, anyway...
Either way...It won't change my life any...and that's what I get for 'stealing' a story...lol
Catch you guys afterwhile:)

If you've read The Zombie Survival Guide, they would say this is definately true. The story broke, was reported, and was immediately covered up by governing authorities. That book has about a dozen or so other examples of incidents like this that have been covered up. It's a good read.

The book even goes so far as to explain in intricate detail how a plant disease (Solanum), when introduced to humans, turns them into zombies. The book is hilarious! They take the subject 100% seriously, even going so far as to describe in detail which weapons are better manufactured for decapitating zombie head. Then towards the end of the book, it has all these so called zombie attacks that have happened and been covered up.
If you are into zombie stuff, this book is a must for no other reason than sheer entertainment value.

Impossible. After 24 hours of exposure the zombie virus (Solanum) debilitates the brain to the point of death and then only uses what it needs to feed on living tissue. The body's dead. No heartbeat, no brainwaves. It is essentially a puppet of this nasty virus.
So I suppose technically you could be a smart zombie (although, you wouldnt be a zombie yet, just a human in the process of changing into a zombie.) as you are in normal life zombie for the 24 hour duration that it takes you to change and become a mindless eating machine.
(And just so you all know, this is all from the Zombie Survival Guide's point of view, not mine.

As opposed to all the other zombies, who are real.

Bub is a zombie in Day of the Dead. He's seems more trainable and intelligent than most zombies you see.
In the book I'm reading, there coulds be no Bubs because to be a zombie one is essentially 100% braindead.
I know 'Bubs' is not his name. It's Bub.
