 holy spelling errors batman!

Good observation. In pretty much every case, they are horrible actors and dont get asked back because they do a shit job of things.

Ever see Mick Jagger in Freejack? Holy christ, he was terrible.

Cheech is a bad example, though. he has been in dozens of movies since the late 70s, that hardly makes him a flash-in-the-pan like the others.

Cher
Kris Kristofferson
the aforementioned Will Smith & Ice Cube
Tom Waits
Mark Wahlberg

i'd say that singers acting have fared a lot better than actors singing.. although the crossover in each direction is hardly suprising ...
most people can act - given a clever director ... but most people cant sing .. you cant hide a bad voice for long.

Meatloaf is a guy who I think pulls of acting pretty well.... 51st State and Fight Club. Not many singers can these days.

I doubt he'll make anymore movies. After 8 Mile (which I thought was boring as shit but he wasn't bad in), I don't think he's gonna do anymore.

Or let's hope.

Very weird and trashy movie that I haven't watched for years. I used to love it in high school when I was a huge Jane's Addiction fan. I like their version of "Don't call me nigger...." with Ice T and Ernie C. John Frusciante had some amazing songs, Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt is one of my all time favorite albums...... very underated music.

Rob Halford cracked me up in Spun..... NEVER try to fuck Mickey Rourke :p Billy Corgan turning up in that movie kinda ruined it for me tho someone should put that whining 'lil bitch outta his misery.

Lee Ving from Fear has had a couple of cool villan roles aswell. I watched Streets of Fire the other night and he turned up in that.

But yeh I think Tom Waits has already been mentioned I really enjoyed a lot of his preformances especially the Jim Jarmuch film Down By Law.

i can barely remember it ..

it was kind of fun .. but yet another example of how ill conceived 'punks' were in the movies ..

like the 'punks' in Return of the Living Dead ..

a black guy with long hair - a punk ?

Elvis_Christ
04-25-2005, 09:14 PM
Yeh its pretty funny how the media constructs their own definition of "punk" and creates stereotypes that people adopt. Punk is more a state of mind and attitude than anything..... I hate how a lot punks have their cliched uniforms. That's one reason why I prefer the American punk scene of the 80s over anything else because it wasn't about mohawks and studs people just wore whatever and played great music.
