I'm with ya Urge.
Aliens, ghosts, voodoo, witches, etc...
I don't believe in any of that shit either. There's always a scientific explanation.

On the off chance that supernatural things DO exist, i believe there would be a scientific explanation.
Hell, I bet IF there is a God, there is a logical, scientific, quantitative explanation for him/it/her.
It just may be very complicated.
That being said, i absolutely love the supernatural, but remain skeptical in light of the fact that i have never seen any conclusive evidence. I've had my own weird experiences, but nothing conclusive.

I am basically of the same viewpoint as you with slight differences...
If any of that stuff exists, it is with scientific explanation. It is my opinion that if something can be explained logically (scientifically, mathematically, whatever...) then it isn't/wasn't ever supernatural to begin with. It was just something we didn't understand, but later grasped.
Too me, the supernatural is something unexplainably otherworldly. If an explanation can be offered of this world, that would negate it in my eyes.

I did then I didn't then I did now I guess you could say I'm skeptical, not skeptical as in the people who always try and prove it wrong but more in the way of could be could not be and I'm not sure.

Too me, the supernatural is something unexplainably otherworldly. If an explanation can be offered of this world, that would negate it in my eyes. I kind of agree with that. Look at the number of things that were "monsters" a long time ago, but are now just "animals" (elephants, whales, giant squid)
But i like the idea that some things are so far out there that even if they were emprically identified and categorized, they would still be "supernatural". I dont know if you are familiar with the game "Shadowrun", but it presented things perfectly. in it, magic and "monsters" have become an everydaypart of life on Earth, but some things are still supernatural, even though they have perfectly scientific explanations.
I think life is just more fun if we have magic and ghosts, even if magic turns out to be simple quantum physics and ghosts are just stored energy with a conciousness.
I'm hoping i am expressing that in an easy to understand way. it's a weird concept that is easily muddled in the explaining

Witches exist, I am one.
Dont discount Voodoo either, it is a religion just like Wicca or Paganism to generalize.
As for everything else, its all natural to me.
The only thing I would consider "supernatural" would be ghost. There are new species of animals discovered everyday so if Bigfoot became a reality it wouldn't totally surprise me.
Life on other planets wouldn't blow my mind.I don't think they would be of the cliched variety,i.e. big eyes, green skin, butt-probing, lazer shooting kind.
Vampires and werewolves....nah.
As far as ghost go ,seeing is believing....I haven't seen any yet.

As far as ''Scientific Explanations'' are concerned they're as solid as the things they are attepting to disprove.
for example this is one thing that there's always a scientific explanation for, whenever something is accused(for lack of a better word) of being alien material they do a test on it and as soon as they find one of the elements in it they dismiss it, but who's to say aliens wouldn't have some of if not all of the same elements as we do. All ufo/alien stories have one constant, they aren't from here and they arrived in ufos so what did they build it with? moon rocks? They're are elements on the moon and mars so why is it out of the question for alien material to have them as well?
and then there's God, some people say we evolved from apes which sounds completely ridiculous and as George Carlin put it others say ''there's an invisible man in the sky'' who made us out of dirt which also sounds completely ridiculous.
Some people say a huge proton and nuetron were traveling at light speed then crashed into each other and created the universe and everything in it, on the other hand some people say that ''the invisible man in the sky'' was sitting around by himself and just decided to do it, both of which sound completely ridiculous.
The point I'm trying to make with all this accessive typing is that NOTHING is for sure but death.

I know there are people that practice witchcraft, just as I know there are people that practice voodoo.
I just don't believe in all the hocus pocus. I don't think any sort of magic exists, therefore I don't believe that 'spells' can be cast or voodoo dolls poked at the discomfort of the likeness.
Voodoo zombies can be made, but they use an herbal powder (And they aren't really zombies, they're just people who have been poisoned.) Just like everything, there is an explanation.
'Magic' is not real. (Not to me at least.) The world's greatest 'magicians' are really only illusionists, that know how to play tricks on your eyes.
That is my opinion.
P.S. I don't believe in psychics, telepathy, that John Edwards guy, or astrology either.
(The fact that I don't believe these things exist does not mean I don't enjoy discussing them with individuals who do. I enjoy hearing all sides.)

Okay, maybe we are a little further apart than I thought. I do not believe that explanation of ghost to be logical. I don't think they exist in any way, shape or form. I would love to go stay over at a 'haunted' house or castle or something like that, but I think everyone else in the group wouldn't enjoy my company because of my skepticism. Still it'd be cool to see if it could change my mind.

I voted yes because there are things that happen that just can not be explained in scientific terms. Also just because you do not see it, does not mean it does not exist.

Its kinda medevil to put all of lifes meaning into the "afterlife". To think that your purpose is to live a good life so that you can live with your blood forever imortal in eternity. But also, in an infinate universe, everything must be equal and balanced so if there is a death on earth then there should be life some where else. Energy is redisperced staying the same on both sides of the equation. Positive, negative and nuetral energy make up every little part of every little thing so I suppose if you live your life positively, not good or bad, then when dead and decaying your energy would be disburst through out the infinate void as positive enerygy, or would it be as equally negative as it was positive to balance it self out? Im so stoned.
I beleave there is a creator and I have a soul but we as a people have no purpose/ or are not aware enough to know our purpose so we are constantly in some sort of catch 22.

I believe in ghosts, and sometimes UFO's. But very much in ghost. I myself have never seen one, but my old housekeeper, when I was about 13, told me a story about one that sounded so convincing. She told me that she would never lie to me about this. She told me that ever part of the story was 100% true. she swore to god that it was true. and I knew her very well, and knew that she wouldnt lie to me. She was little when it happened. In her old house, every night she heard some weird noises going to the bathroom. She decided to go in there one night, and was shocked when she saw the toilet flush itself, but she wasnt scared. The next night it happened again, and she got her mom this time. Neither of them were scared, they just watched. It kept happening. Her mom called the plumbing service to see if there was anything wrong with the topilet, but nothing was. It kept happening for more and more nights, and neither her or her mom was ever scared by it. sometimes the spirit did different things, like turned on the sink, and closed and opened the door. After a while the happenings stopped, and she thought about it for a while, and pondered why it didnt scare her. She came up with the theory that a ghost or spirit will onlky scare you if it intends to. This one however, was just going to the bathroom. Didnt mean anyone any harm. I went to her house one time, and asked her mom. Her mom willingly admitted that the happening were true, and did indeed happen. Thats my story.

I voted no, and let me explain. In many varieties of Wicca there is no para or supernatural because NATURE is the pentultimate. Need I say, it's all encompassing. Ghosts, magic, aliens, all a part of the natural order.

Not seen but heard several times when we were still living in our old house. Our ghosts, or what ever they were, made a hell of a lot of noise every night
