Is there any truth to the fact JC has been directing films under a different name?

Very, very few people know about it, but yes, Carpenter has been directing films under the pseudonym of "Brian DePalma" for quite some time now.

I guess De Palma gets accussed of trying to be him a lot anyway.
I know Carpenter often writes script under different names.

i used to get pisses at depalma because it seems like all he did was rip off hitchcock claiming he was 'paying homage' to him.

I figured you could get away with that once .. but 3 times ?

now that i'm older and mellower .. i really dont care as much ..

if they can afford to make a film... let them make whatever they want..

There was some buzz a year or two ago about a remake of the THING, or something. Did anyone catch the "REMAKE" of Assult on Precinct 13?

Not to bust in on the serious nature of this thread;), but check this out... after, quite a hiatus it looks like Carpenter is back in the scene...
