I don't really have a problem with the running zombies. I thought at first I would't like it but then I was thinkg, how do we know zombies can't run? No one has really ever seen a zombie. It's up to the director what he/she wants to do. I think one advantage to the runnig zombie is, now a living person will have trouble getting away from them. It gives the movie a little more.

i dont care if someone else tries it on for a change, but not land of the dead .. it wouldnt fit with the continuation of the story romero started.

I agree that Romero can't use running zombies but I don't have a problem with them in movies anymore.

Dancing zombies!!! LMAO!!!

A zombie musical, now that's something that needs to be done, lol.

Zombies, are Undead, decaying bodies, so in theory, they should not be able to run.

I understand what you are saying, but just like The Zombie Survival Guide has stated we don't really know what would happen if we really were confrunted by a real zombie. No one has ever seen one in real life. I don't mind running zombies as much as I did at one point. I still think walking is better though.

Land of the Dead is a sequel to 3 movies with walking zombies. If Romero makes them run, I'll lop off my left nut and post a picture on here for all to see.... That's how sure I am that they won't run.

haha! awesome, i actually forgot i started this poll.
yeah, romero can't use running zombies.

i think my idea behind why zombies can't run is that their bodies are rotting and rigor mortis'd and shouldn't be able to run. jerky slower movemtns make more sense. mmmmm i will look into my notes.

with our time we expect faster zombies. but anything with zombies is cool, doesn't matter if they run, skip or walk. it is all good.

I heard a rumor that George Romero and Richard O'Brien were planing on doing a zombie musical. Now that would be interesting...

Universal has moved up the release date of George Romero's upcoming zombie film Land of the Dead to June 24. Its previous Oct. 21 spot will now be occupied by the video-game adaptation Doom.

i truth i dont really care if they run or walk

i think it should depent on how long they have been dead and how they died.

for example a guy who got bit and turned should run to start with and the longer hes dead the slower he should be.

and a dude whos been dead for 50 years should crawl or stumble and consintly fall.

I could live with afst moving zombies if there some sense of organized logic to it like that.

I still don't think Romero's zombies will run though.

I agree with Kung. What he said makes perfect sense...why the hell would you stumble and walk if you got your arm bit off. You wouldn't. Now, on the other hand, I think Romero will use running zombies. The Dawn of the Dead remake used runners, and I'm pretty sure besides us die hard horror fans, all other people out there have their expectations set, and Romero's a good enough director that I think he will probably use the runners. There's one man's opinion.

(I am not saying I want runners, because I actually haven't quite made up my mind...but Romero'll use 'em)

if we keep applying logic to zombies - sooner or later someone is going to point out the inevitable ..

when a person dies - they dont come back.
lack of oxygen (the cause of EVERY death) causes damage to the brain.

Which could impair any kind of movement at all.

I would just like to point out that a zombie is someone who is unDEAD...rigor mortis has set in making their limbs stiff and not as flexiable...hence, making it impossible for a zombie to run or even walk fast.
Anyway, Romero will keep his zombies identical to his previous 3 movies: namely walking slowly...
Land Of The Dead should be good.

probably not entirely true.... his zombies have evolved this time round. What that means I'm not sure, but it'll be good whatever he decides for them.
