It's a short film of around 30-32 minutes by Raimi, and does have Campbell in the cast, was filmed around 1978. Anchor Bays most recent release of Evil Dead was going to include this as an extra, but didn't for some legal reason I don't know of.

how would they make a pre quel? ifthey did it couldn't star ash...?

no it was made before the evil dead and evil dead was spawned off it well i think anyway
