A Nightmare On Elm Street star Robert Englund is trying to persuade veteran scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis to reprise her role as Laurie Strode for one more Halloween movie. Englund, who is famous for playing razor-fingered Freddy Krueger, wants to team up with Halloween hellraiser Michael Myers for what he hopes will be another box office bash. But Englund will only take on the project if semi-retired Curtis returns to the big screen. (Englund reprised his Freddy Krueger character for surprise 2003 horror hit Jason Vs Freddy, in which he came face to face with another scary movie icon, Friday the 13th's Jason Vorhees.)

Englund says, "The way it's conceived it would be a hell of an acting chore for Jamie because she would get to do sort of a rehab/recovery performance, and it would be really fun. You could imagine, just see that whole arc of the character, from being damaged and addled and weak, then getting your strength back. It's that great old thing, the gunfighter who loses their courage. My idea is to couple her with a strong stepdaughter or daughter, so you have female heroines, which is that great Nightmare on Elm Street thing, except this time you have double the fun."

Englund may also be interested in squaring of with horror honey Candyman, played by Tony Todd. "We'd really be able to open the door to surrealism, then. Whereas, if you use someone like Micheal Myers, he's not that different. He has a different goal, but he's not that different from Jason. But if you get someone like Candyman, now you really open the world to some surrealism in horror, and really go somewhere strange", he explains. "But it's also that he operates on several planes, too, as opposed to Jason, who operates in reality and Freddy, who operates in dreams. Obviously, I would probably need Jason, because I already know how to work him like my puppet. But it would be interesting to see how they deal with each other. It would almost be, as opposed to strength against each other, about who could out-fantasy each other; psyche the other one out. They'd have to go after each other's psychological flaws. since they never actually showed her dying in Resurrection if they come up with something believable then it's completely possible for the storyline to make sense.


I think it'd be cool if they got Curtis and Harris to do it, of course it wouldn't be all that great(although you never know) but Freddy vs. Jason was a fun movie to watch so I'd go see this and probably enjoy doing so.

Its a lame idea, but it would be fun.

They should just remake one of the episodes from 'Freddy's Nightmares', where they have him causing trouble before he dies, and turn it into a movie.

This movie wont happen b/c Myers is owned by Dimension and Freddy is owned by New Line. There would be too much of a rights dispute. Plus that a really stupied idea, it just shows how disperite Hollywood is getting to make a buck.

This might be old news to some.

At the 25th Anniversery Crystal Lake Party it was reported that another Jason film is in the works and it will be another pairing with Freddy. But there are talks of another horror icon being thrown into the mix: Michael Myers.

Well let's see...

Laurie Strode could be alive, they did not show her death only her being stabbed and falling into the trees. I would bet dollars to pesos that the falling into the trees was deliberate just in case she came back.

Now, Jason is in the dream world at the moment if we take the ending of FvJ foor what it is, with Freddy's head winking at us, so if Freddy is torturing Jason in the dream world, or simply keeping him there, we still need to have closure on Jason before Freddy moves on.

The only way to make this plausible would be to have all three in the film, Freddy vs Jason vs Micheal.

Laurie moves to a quiet hospital in Springwood to recover and stay hidden. She still believes that Micheal may be alive, as his body dissapeared after the fire at the Myers House (Resurrection).
Her son John has since moved away, but Laurie is guardian over the adopted daughter of the teacher she was seeing in H20, who was killed, as the girl had no other family. Laurie is in the process of sending her away to school however, and on October 30th we begin the story as the girl is leaving the next morning.

Meanwhile, Freddy is running off what little fear is left in Springwood, when he comes across this girl in the care of Laurie, and once the girl hears about the legend of Freddy Krueger fear begins to set in her. Freddy uses others to gain power, then goes after the girl. There are, however, TWO catches.

1st - While he is trying desperately to take this girl, he is loosening his grip on the dormant Jason, and Jason becomes aware of his prison, and fights to wake up.

2nd - Micheal has found Laurie, and has seen this girl that Laurie is with. He figures he can get to Laurie through her, or by killing her. Either way, Micheal is now after Freddy's prey.

And so begins a three way battle, as Freddy angers over Myers involvement with the girl and tries any way he can to actually KEEP HER SAFE, so that he can have her once his power is ready. However, Jason has awoken and has made his way to Springwood.....

Of course, we'd have to have both Dream world and real world sequences. Freddy would try desperately to destroy the other two on his own terms, Jason of course cannot die and uses his invulnerability to his advantage, and Micheal tries to take a psychological approach in the real world, but he is more focused on getting to Laurie.

Obviously, we then have the daughter/Laurie team that Englund spoke of to do battle, except we now have three monsters.

I may actually work out the intracacies and see what kind of a story I can come up with. I forgot about the fact that Laurie would have to be released from the institution she was in, which would make the story of her getting custody of the adopted daughter a bit harder. I'm going to present a very unpopular opinion, seeing as I loved Freddy vs. Jason. I thought it was an intricate, visually striking and clever film with a LOT going for it. I like Ronnie Yu. I liked Bride of Chucky and I happen to have purchased Freddy vs. Jason. So, if Ronnie Yu directs this film and it is written by somebody with a brain in their head, like Freddy vs. Jason was, it might turn out cool. Freddy vs. Jason was not all about Freddy and Jason beating the crap out of each other for ninety minutes. But, if you bring in another mute bruiser like Michael Myers, the risk of that happening is quite present. The problem would be making Jason and Michael watchable on screen together. There would need to be a damn good reason for Michael to enter the mix and damn good mortal characters. Freddy vs. Jason was not a Godzilla movie, it dealt mostly with the people in the periphery dealing with the two monsters and not much of a slugfest. If the director and writers approach it is an Inoshiro Hondo style monster melee, they will greatly shortchange the audience. That being said, Kaiju fans don't take offense at what might be interpreted as my disparaging remarks. I grew up on Godzilla myself.

I'm down with that. Treat it comic book style and enjoy the ride.

Jason vs Mikey would be a hell of a fight towards the end. It'll take some amazing scripting to pull off the film until the final showdown. But if done well this could give a deeper insight into these silent killers.... there's a lot of possiblity. These two muthafukkkas just need to be put in the right vehicle.

But the sad truth of it is that it'll be scripted by some chump with no idea for the genre or appreciation of the two series' of films.

The Predator and Alien are a similar case and moments of that film worked so I wouldn't write it off completly. But yeh like a said a great script by those with knowledge, appreciation and passion could make this shit a cult classic (is there any other kind in the genre?).
