I saw that it was listed on the Cinescape festival in Los Angeles and it showed being Aussie made, I think. Is it a comedy or a serious horror? Let us know when you come back.

From what I have heard it is both. Only about 12 hours now till I am in a seat watching it.

Time to sleep now though, lol.

Saw it and loved it! Never have I been to a movie that got applauded during and at the end of the movie. I'm not even a huge fan of zombie movies and I am definitely not a fan of our Australian movies but this kicked so much ass! Way better than that pissy 28 Days Later, so much gorier too.

Sounds cool! You should write up a review on it.

Definitely a good movie for gorehounds.....much in the vein of Dead Alive. It's even from down under as well...

Anywho, I downloaded it a few weeks ago (that's not me being a pirate, that's me not wanting to wait for Lion's Gate to put it out whenever they feel like it....but I will definitely buy it when they do...) so if anyone wants to put in the time and effort, I'll gladly send it.

I've been dying to see this movie ever since the poster was released. Love that shotgun (Reggie anyone?). When will this hit the states??? Why are we the last to get shit sometimes?

Hey, you shouldn't be saying that. Australia only just got Freddy vs Jason and we're still waiting for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, you guys basically get every movie a long time before we do.

I guess that works both ways sometimes. We didn't get 28 Days Later until 10 years after it was released. Okay, maybe it wasn't that long. Dog Soldiers is another one I had to wait for.

Australia got both of those movies after America. We only just got Dog Soldiers out on DVD here. 28 Days Later came out in theatres here around 2 months ago.

Not if you count all of those overseas film festivals.

I thought it was an Australian movie though. Makes sense they would show it in their home court first. Oh well.

Nah, Australia has never had any good horror movies really and there have hardly been any made so it wouldn't be all that great trying to get attention to a film by promoting it in a place like that.

Overseas has a wider audience for this sort of thing.

True...but you guys did have BMX Bandits!!!! Dead Calm was great too. Oh, and all the Mad Max films.

I'm not too fond of any of those films and they aren't exactly horror. Horror is the most lacking genre in Australian film.

Been a while since I've seen any of those Mad Max films so I can't remember if I liked them or not. I'm sure I thought they were average.

I was making a joke with the BMX Bandits thing. I thought for sure you of all people would have heard of it. Guess Not.

Dead Calm is a brilliant horror/thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Billy Zane. I think it's a great. Just my opinion though.

And Mad Max is anything but mediocre. I love these films. Man, if you can't remember The Road Warrior, you should go back and watch it. It's a post-apocalyptic classic.

Is Undead Australia's first big horror film (other than Dead Calm)? Surely there are others.

Braindead / Dead-Alive isn't an Australian film. Neither is Bad Taste.

I never heard of that other film.

Dude, I live in Australia and I know that New Zealand is not a part of Australia. Even if it is close that doesn't mean anything.

Realise.

Yeah, I love it when the Toecutter's eyes pop out of his skull just before he is hit by the truck. Great stuff.
