I cant remember the last time we had one of these.

So here goes.

I am a programmer (C#), webmaster, and web designer. I know HTML, C#, CSS, Javascript, XML, XHTML, VB Script, plus i have recently learned stored procedures for SQL 2000.

Although i have these wonderful qualifications, i am still answering phone calls for idiots who cant remember their password.

I also write, although i havent sold anything yet, so i am "Aspiring" as opposed to "professional".

I have 1 story posted on a site other than my own, Justice is here on Temple Of Dagon:

I'm an office manager for a construction company. Just me and 2 guys here and they're usually out at job sites. Hence the reason I can lurk and post on Horror so much.

BTW, Vod, the company I was at before this was a headhunter for computer people!

Computer nerd. Some comic nerd. Food Nerd. Movie nerd. Horror nerd. Toy Nerd. Still a tiny bit of porno nerd. Just a little bit though.

Here is just a question. I just did my taxes for the first time because i always paid an accountant... Its alot easier than I thought.. Just follow the steps in the information book. Do I have to send in a copy of my W-2 along with my 10-04? I think I do but it doesnt say in the information booklet. I would figure because Im sending my student loan info and CD interest information.

i used to do PC support ... now I do asset management for a large cell phone company.

I assign and track all of the new hardware coming in, the old hardware going out .. and all of the stuff going to and coming from warrenty repair.

I supply hardware and peripherals to the technicians .. who like to hang in my office, joke around, and groove to my tunes :)

I get to dress the way i want and play music as loud as i want all day.

I post a lot on horror, but between tasks...

I'd love to buyout Blockbusters, change the name to ShankSies Films and chuck out all the trash they stock, and fill up to the brim with horror. I'd have horror events and have horror actors come in and have film sessions in specialy built mini theatres, where they could give 'live' commentaries whilst the film is running.... now that would be an awesome job to do.

I spent the 4 years previous to this job making cabinets, and eventually doing large scale manufacturing of custom stair treads out of a 3 man shop. It wasnt a bad job. pay kinda sucked, but it was good exercise and made me tough as nails (a lot of groin shots with flying wood. what doesnt kill you makes you stronger...)

The cool thing is, the company we made the treads for exported them all over the place. Stairs that i made now adorn houses and penthouses owned by Don Imus and Gloria Vanderbilt.

pretty snappy, eh?

My last job was as a videostore clerk, but I don't have a job right now. I'm in school and I don't want to work part time at the theater or some restaurant. Working at the theatre would really suck... Announcing the films and stuff before the movie starts, groups of "badass" 13 year old boys telling you to shut the fuck up and you can't even strangle them... Nope, unless I can strangle them to death it's not worth it. ;)

acting - is not a solitary thing ... you'd have to deal with a hell of a lot of people .. unless you find retreating into yourself - in a part - as good as being remote ..

i can see how that would work.
If you arent being yourself then you are in effect - hiding.

Which is fine if you're a social person. But I'm not. People get on my nerves... but in acting, I could deal with anything...it's my dream and always has been. And look at Anthony Hopkins...from what I hear in interviews he's done, he's not too much of a people person either--I think he said he'd like to live on an island away from everybody-- and he's a great actor. I always liked him cause he seems alot like me. I'd love to meet him someday.

Cool. I'll have to check it out when I get home. My bands called The Returns we do a Melvins type thing crossed with a bit of metal and punk. I haven't got anything recorded well enough to show to you yet but when I get onto it I'll let you know.

Sounds like a good mix. My drummer seen the Melvins live this summer. He said they were so fucking heavy.

Check out my music, tell me what you think. even if you hate it.

Yeh I missed them last time they came here..... I'm real gutted about it. They are super fucking heavy and sludgey probably one of the most underatted bands of all time. Yeh I'll tell you what I think.... it sounds good how you've decribed it and I dig a bunch of your influences (except the Radiohead thing *shudders*). But yeh I'll let you know. How long have you guys been together for?

Some people hate Radiohead, too wussy for you, eh? I think they rock ass. We really don't sound like radiohead.

I guess they've just been overplayed to me I'm kinda in the same boat with Tool. I just find stuff like Radiohead a bit to bitchy/moaning for my liking. 3 years that's pretty cool we've only been together about 6 months but we've got a bit of material and have had a few gigs. Our drummer lives out of town so we don't get to practice as much as we should but we still scrape by and we've had a good reaction to our music so far.

thats actualy 'sort of' done in a couple of rough areas in the Uk...the kids get given money if they actually bother turning up for school  the authorities don't realise the money most likely goes towards underage drinking and drugs.

Well, when i was on maternity leave it was me and 2 children, under 4 for a year. Let me tell ya i ran back to work. That would be the fucking day i rely on the "system". There is help i get for being a single f/t working mom from the government, but it has no basis for whether i work or not, that's for sure.

They know mommy has to work if they want nice things. It's showing them that being independant and self-reliant, opens up doors. Or i hope it does, lol.
