What do you collect?

I have an enormous collection of bottles, over 200 at this point. No repeats, all various kinds of liquor and beer, some still have booze in them. I have one that my grandmother in law gave me that is worth over $300.

I also have a HUGE collection of Magic The Gathering cards. i had a decent collection, and i had a frweind who also played that had thousands of them. He had been going out with my sister for years and kept them at our house. Anyway, they broke up, and i put them in my trunk for him to take. for 2 FUCKING YEARS i told him to take them back and he kept putting it off. Finally, we stopped hanging out and talking, so i kept them. i'm not sure what the value is, but with some o fthe rare cards, and the sheer number of them, it has to be between 3 and 10 thousand dollars (maybe i should find out...)

I also have a collection of cards for a game called "Netrunner". it was a MTG type game based on Cyberpunk 2020.

And i have cards for Jyhad, the forerunner to Vampire_the eternal strugglre card game. it only lasdted a couple of months because it was almost unplayable.

Back before i had a woman, i had a frighteningly large collection of internet porn....

close to 2 gigs of pictures alone. All big chested women. i really was a sad little nerd.

I would love to collect fossils, but i dont have the room or the money. Plus, i think fossils in general should be in a museum.

Old man :)

Isnt it funny, though, that the people i get along with best here are usually much older than me? Except cheeba, he's a youngin' :)

krpo is a year older than me so he is an old fart :D

I used to collect anything i downloaded from the internet. I had tons of movies i downloaded and never watched, tons of music i never listened, to. I deleted most of it. i figured if i had a movie or somg for 3 years and hadnt watched or listened to it yet, it was about time to get rid of it.

the movies were good but many were a waste as i replaced most of them with DVDs before i got a chance to watch them

BAck in the early 90s, Venom (from spiderman) had his first solo series called "Lethal Enforcer" (or something to that effect).

I had a mint condition copy of the first issue i had just bought the day it came out (the series sucked, but i still have all of them). it was sitting next to me on the coffee table, and my mom put her drink on it like it was a coaster.

I glared at her and said "Mom... your drink?"

"What?"

"Mom, that comic cot me $3 and was worth 6 the second i paid for it...."

"oops, I'm sorry honey..."

it didnt leave any marks on it, but i made godamn sure my family didnt get anywhere near anything of value to me with food or drink....

LOL I had that happen also not with the board game but, when they re-released the original Star Wars trilogy in the movie theaters here when Jedi was released they gave away these limited edition Jedi Luke Skywalker figures on Limited cards to the first 50 people in the door, it was only like 10,000 of them nation wide they were listed for around $175 a piece last time I checked...Well thankfully I bought an extra ticket and got two of them cause my son got a hold of one of them and it was no longer "mint on card"

I feel the same way. I've had 2 yard sales and made a total of about 40 cents. But I love going to yard sales. Last year my sister and I went to a ritzy neighborhood that advertised a yard sale and all they had was really trashy looking stuff. I said to my sis you'd think there would be better stuff here, but you get better stuff in the lower income neighborhoods.

I had 4 huge binders of baseball cards in protective sleeves, somthing like 600-700 per binder, they were huge and weighed a ton. They were upper deck, fleer, and a couple of others and like brand new. They were from "90" and "91". I picked them up at an auction, thinking I might make some money, (I don't know a damn thing about trading cards). I put them on E-bay and the highest bid I got was $4.50 per binder, (I paid $10.00)! Hell the binders were worth more then that. I finally gave them to a friend as a Christmas gift. So it's no more trading cards for me.

I collect books(mostly history) and guns(mostly rifles.) I have to keep most of my guns with a friend because of the restrictive laws in Washington D.C. which as you may guess, don't really do shit. Of the two, I value my books more. I buy them compulsively and have far more than I can read. In addition to history, I have been reading science fiction recently. I'm not really into horror/fantasy writing but I do like H.P. Lovecraft's stuff.

I've also got a bunch of cards, jerseys, autographs ect.

movie memorobilia...don't really have anything eye catching but my favorite thing is a autographed copy of Dirty Harry(Clint Eastwood) and a autographed copy of Caddyshack(Bill Murray).

Yep. Me & my mom wore them to a Hallowen costume contest thing last year...there was a Freddy & a Jason there too! :p None of us won. A kid dressed as Spongebob, a kid dressed as an old woman, and a guy dressed like some character off Star Wars(?) were the winners. The star wars guy liked my Leatherface costume though. And all the little boys there liked the Leatherface & Michael Myers costumes too...I said they should have let the little boys be the judges. :p

Hahaha that's awesome! Halloween's just slowly starting to take off over here, can't wait till this year. People kept asking me if I'd been in an accident and if I was "alright" when I was walking home from a friends gig. Halloween gets all the religous crackpots going over here to which I find very intertaining!

How old is your kid? :) He sounds alot like my cousin(or at least the way he used to be when he loved dinosaurs...I haven't really seen him or been around him much in awhile.)
And speaking of knowing all the proper names, my other cousin used to be able to name every brand of vacuum cleaner imagineable just from looking at them in a book...and this was before he could read. I always thought it was pretty weird how he was so fascinated with vacuum cleaners. :p

Well lemme see...I sorta collect comics, I have a hell of alot too. But I doubt that any are worth anything, I got about 95% from those bags you used to be able to get for a couple bucks that had 3-4 comics in them. I havnt read many, to be honest.

I also collect Penguins. Not actual penguins, of course. I have around 80, including stuffed, glass, ceramic, plastic, crystal, clay, candles, wickar, brass...heck, even one made out of leather!

I have alot of Pins, too. Most just random ones, and ALOT from when I went to Disney a few years back.

Plus, Im getting a movie collection off the ground. I doubtlessly spend more time/money latly on this one. 68 VHS, and strangly enough, the same number of DVD [Counting Boxsets as 1].

I'd like to get some Tales From The Crypt comics but I don't think they ever made it over here. I've got a few issues of stuff like Creepy. But I've managed to find stuff like old Famous Monsters of Filmland issues so maybe there creeping about somewhere..... I just can't be fucked paying large sums of money for them.

I usually keep my ticket stubs too. I haven't been to many concerts but I have been to see alot of movies and I usually keep the ticket stubs to them...unless my mom sees them laying around and throws them away. She can't stand to see any "junk" laying around the house and wants to throw everything away that isn't useful, or give it away or whatever...I'm the opposite though. I save almost everything. My dad & grandpa are the same way I am...they wanna save all their junk too. :p
