When she was honored by Women in Film in 2003, Hill said, "I hope some day there won't be a need for Women in Film. That it will be People in Film. That it will be equal pay, equal rights and equal job opportunities for everybody."
Born in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Hill grew up in Philadelphia.

Here's a fairly low-res scan from an issue of Cinefantastique examining John Carpenter's films. It's entitled "Partners In Horror--Producer Debra Hill shares in Carpenter's success" ...the preceding photos were from the same page.

That is very sad indeed. I really liked the films she worked on and I agree with the statement that she said when she was honored at Women in Film. Hopefully, one day it will be people in film and people with the same skills will be paid the same. She was a great filmmaker and she will be missed.
