Heya folks...
Yeah, I've known she was pregnant for a while, but I had no idea she'd have kittens so soon. I went to give her some cooked lamb, to make sure she was eating lotsa protein n stuff, and I heard the little ones crying.
Man, theyre so cute...
All I have done is changed her cage to an indoors one.
Last time, things didn't work out...and I was pretty damn upset for a while, but it was her first time then, and I didn't really do EVERYTHING by the book, I touched stuff in her cage..etc, and apparently that's bad...look...I dunno, but this time, I'm doing everything right, and putting all the faith I can muster in her to do this RIGHT.

I really, REALLY want a little guy just like my last one...:( I'll even call him the same thing...it's so hard trying not to get attatched...

I'll keep you all informed.

You should name all of the babies after characters from Beowulf, so folks can come over and you can explain it to them and they can call you a loser. That would be my advice.

They're all asleep now.
I think this time might be better, I really do, and if not, I gotta go get me a female ferret that works right, I think.

I don't know if I told y'all, but the two ferrets I have aren't technicallt mine, they were dumped on me by my brother, who lost interest...now it seems he wants them back at some point.., so I REALLY hope I get a little guy of my own, to hand raise.
I can't wait.

I had a ferret when I was little, she smelled really bad and she would bite everybody but me, she was awesome. And she lived like, 14 years which I guess is a long time.

I want a chinchilla.

i had a ferret once .. also a handmedown from someone who lost interest.

he was a great little guy but a lot of work ..

i wasnt around much so i passed him on to someone who had the time to be with him more.

i thought he was a loveable little goof ...

its true .. they never really lose the scent ....even if you shampoo them a lot - which they hate.

i found mine to be noisy because he wanted out of his cage at nite... and he wasnt the best at using his litter box ...

Mine used to tear at the cage door almost every night. And have you heard a ferret cry?

Oh GOD it's scary. I tried giving her a bath one time and it's somethin' out of a horror movie.

They only bit,scrach,or kick you if provoked or if it feels like its in any type of threat.

Could somebody maybe post a picture of a chinchilla for me? We don't have them here...if they're a large rodent of some sort, having feirce fights to protect thri own wouldn't be uncommon...I mean I've seen rats defend their family, and you don't EVEN wanna fuck with those guys...

Anyways, just an update.
As I said, I'm trying not to get o involved or hands on, but I just went and looked in the cage, and the mother was laying with her babies...I mean, I dunno if theyre ALL still alive (here's hoping) but I did see movement.
All I can do right now is watch, feed her once a day, clean out any funky shit from the age, and let her do what she's gonna...
From the looks of things, it MIGHT just be ok this time.:)

It's funny how that happens...most dogs (and cats too) are very VERY placid after they've had a baby, and actually watch you as you play with the babies, I mean theyre mindfull of you, and sometimes take them back after a while, but they're ok with it...yet SOME dogs n cats get like CRAZY protective for the first week or so...
