View Full Version : Best Ending in a Horror Movie! **MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**

Now...it doesn't matter how shitty the movie acutally was, just how good the ending was.
I think the best ending in a horror movie I've ever seen was in SAW, I just thought that was awesome.
*SPOILER BELOW*
*
*
*
*
************
The last 5 minutes were great. Like you think that Kemp is the killer for much of the film, then when the tape recorder starts playing and the music begins. OMG I thought it was just great, and then the guy who has been in the middle of the floor the whole movie gets up! I dunno many films with a surprise ending like that.

You sir.... are a idiot
Saw was the worst ending of all time.
Why... because it is unpredictable! thats not even a twist. Its a crap out!
Also the whole movie doesn't make sense.

Nevertheless i would say that my favorite ending is the one in "Evil dead 2". No one saw that one comming miles away. Fucking awsome!:D

Seven , Friday the 13TH 4 (Die! Die! Die!), Dead and Buried, Angel Heart(Semi-Horror), The Lost Highway(Kind Of horror-ish), April Fool's Day(I like it, so fuck off), The Shining, Halloween , The Omen, Deep Red...they're not all twist endings, but they're all very good.
As for Saw, I just watched it a few nights ago, and I have to admit, I liked it. I am only luke warm on the ending though...I wasn't pissed, but I wasn't all that shocked , either. It does the job.

WTF R Y talking about?
I think you just saying that stuff just to be an asshole. I mean "the worst ending of all time"? And saying it's "not even a twist" R U kidding me? Have u even seen the movie? I must admit the movie may be a little confusing, but if u pay attention it all does make sense. I didn't really have a problem making sense of the confusion, but it does take some thinking. I think the only confusing thing really about it was it took place in 2 different times, one was the present time, then the other the past. It all does make sense though.
And don't post just to down someone's opinion, all u posted was that Saw was the worst ending of all time, then u didn't even give me a movie, in your opinion, that was good? lol, and I'm the idiot, your the one who obviosly didn't understand the movie.
***SPOILER: Saw ending***SPOILER***
As for the ending in Saw, I liked how the ending was (it was a nice twist, but the jigsaw body in bathroom all along should have been done away with. He should have just been behind the glass window or something. Watching it all unfold.
Good Endings:
Seven, Return of the Living Dead, Cabin Fever (will get some flack), The Omen, Sixth Sense, The Butterfly Effect, The Vanishing (1988), The Others, Frailty (***** stars there), American Psycho, Identity, Fallen

Saw had too many "twists" to be a twist ending. You can't have the twist, and then make a NEW twist after that. Blah to that movie.
I think a good ending, might not be a twist, but the American version of The Ring. When the kid says "You weren't supposed to help her", the hairs on my arm stood up. Then shit went CRAZY!!!!
CRAZY go nuts....

I liked that he was in the room the whole time. I thought it went along great with the music. I did think it was a little unrealistic though, like, how does he not move the whole time? He had to breath, I'v tryed to breath without my stomach moving before lol, its really hard.
The other thing is to, like I don't think the ending would have been as good if he wasn't like THAT CLOSE to them. Suppose the ending went the same, the tape recorder and everything. I guess it would still be good, but it just goes so great with the music when he trys to shoot him and he hits the buzzer an stuff.
BTW The 6th Sense, The Butterfly Effect, and Identity all had great endings.

SPOILERS
The very best surprise ending to a horror movie is the original Night of the Living Dead. 100% surprising the first time you see it. The poor guy survives the night from hell (literally) and then as the army sweeps in to save the day, they mistake him for a zombie and shoot him in the head.
Other endings I really liked are...
Memento - (The more you watch this movie, the more layers to the plot you realize exist. Awesome film! Wonderfully creative direction!)
The Usual Suspects (Keyser Soze. 'Nuff said!)
Donnie Darko (Huh? Like Memento, I delve deeper and deeper into the plot every time I watch this one.)
Se7en (This ending just kicks ass. Plain and simple.)
The Sixth Sense (I didn't know he was dead until the very end the first time I saw it.)
Fight Club (One of the most fucked up endings in years.
Confidence (You know there's going to be a lot of twists, but it's impossible to figure it out.)
Psycho II (Yeah I said it! Psycho II. If you haven't seen it, go watch the first one and then watch the second one. The ending of this was SO COOL that I really dont want to give it away to anyone that hasnt seen it. If you have similar taste in what endings you like, then I think you will like this one... Just trust me, but make sure you have the first Psycho fresh in your memory before watching it.)
As for the other movies mentioned in this thread...
I wasn't crazy about Saw. It looked AWESOME from the trailers, but I was disappointed. Very cool concept but I dont think they pulled it off very well.... The blond guy was a shitty actor and the multiple 'twists' at the end made the whole movie seem to not make any sense.
I thought The Ring was one of the most over rated movies in the last decade. (Right there with Blair Witch.) It had potential and then I thought the last 25 minutes were just terrible. I knew there would be a sequel because the first one didn't answer any of the questions it raised which was why I thought it sucked in the first place. I won't be seeing Ring 2.
Identity was very predictible in the aspect that it was going to be multiple personalities, but which one won out was a nice final twist at the very end.
Never saw Henry but now I want to. That sounds cool.

Mothan Prophecies had a damn good one, too.
Amen with Blair Wich...alothough the rest of the movie sucked.

First off, I didn't say word one about 'Ringu'. That was okay. (Far from a classic, but okay.)
Of course Hollywood tries to copy it, that's what they do to anything that has made money. Just like Ju-On to The Grudge, the American counterpart is about 4 notches below it's Japanese original.
Remakes in general piss me off, but this one really did and it was mainly because all I heard from anyone who saw it was that it was sooooo scary. Fuck that. The Ring wasn't scary at all. In fact, it was really fucking stupid in my opinion. The villain sucked (Ooohhh, some little girl stuck in a well somehow got on to a tape that scares people to death... Really scary... ), the acting sucked, the director tried to give it the Jap horror feel and failed, and on top of that, the end of the movie didn't even tie up all the loose ends.
The Ring = 1 suck ass movie.
