I dont know many movies that deal with Witches... except for Suspiria and Teen Witch. I think more movies should be made for witches.

Macbeth has witches.

The Witches

Hocus Pocus

witches of eastwick

there is a series of movies called 'witchcraft'

the conquerer worm - if you want to go old school

come to think of it, i think witches are pretty stupid. they arenot scary at all, unless it's the blair witch project.

so basically - they are ok if you dont see them :)

i dont find witches to be very frightening either.

there have been some good 'devil worship - conspiracy' type movies though..

one was Race With the Devil (1975) with Peter Fonda
which i thought was great as a kid .. i dont know if i'd like it as much now.

another was a movie with a title i cant remember...
it had a western setting .. a new preacher comes to town - and it ends up being a town full of devil worshipers.
They were (i think - it was long ago) trying to break his faith - tempting him with a girl .. in the end he was burned alive in his church.

it may have been made for TV - not sure.

The 70's were great for these kind of movies ...

basically yeah. In the Blair Witch Project, that Mary Brown charecter described the witch as being hairy all over, "like a horse" if they had showed that, it would have looked stupid as fuck.

I saw this when I was a kid at the drive-in. Warren Oates was in it as well...I believe.

I think since the wiccans launch their campaign to be accepted as a legitimate religion back in the 80s, there haven't been many "witchcraft" movies.

To me, you usually see it as a smaller element or plot point in a non-witchcraft themed horror movie. Werewolf movies for example.

Equality is great...Race with the Devil was the one where they were in the Moterhome, and on motorcycles.

There was one with Ernest Borgnine and John Travolta,(his first film I think) but it dealt more with Satanists, which is often confused/grouped in with Witchcraft.

Right, Devil's Rain it was called. Never did get around to seeing it. BTW, movieman, your last message to me was blank.

You have revealed our secret realationship, how could you destroy my trust? LOL, I just asked if you were planning on seeing the new Exorcist if you hadn't already, being it came out on DVD today? I'm heading to Wal-Mart to pick up my copy in a few minutes.

Damn I didn't even think of that! LOL

As for the new Exorcist, I'm still torn about seeing it seeing how I still can't watch the first one! I'm such a coward!

I didn't mean you had to tell us your age! I was 8 and begged my cousin to take me. She went and saw it first and slept with the lights on for 2 weeks. She refused to take me, so I had to wait. I saw my first R movie 2 years later when I was 10. I don't remember what it was but I was really excited.

Believe me, I don't hide my age. I'll be 46 in June. A friend of my Mom's took me to see the movie cause she HATES horror movies. Go figure - wonder where I came from since my Dad didn't like them either. LOL Oh, maybe Christopher Lee is my real father!!!! LOL
