I voted so-so because I absolutely loved the opening sequence. After that it was just another bad Hollywood horror movie.

it also had a bit of origionality going for it ..
i liked the supernatural element - or mythological element for that matter (the Ferryman) even if it was stretched.
the acting was passable.. it had a bit of a 'shining' vibe at times ...and yes the opening sequence was impressive - even if this film company is making cgi slice and dice (literally) its trademark ...
i thought it was very passable...

the very first 5 minutes or so rock, other than that, kids really don't scare me anymore. Ive been desenitised (<-spelling?) to dead children and their creepiness, thanks hollywood.

I agree the first 5 minutes of Ghost Ship was awesome. I even thought the end was okay, where the ghosts go onto another ship. But the whole middle part was pretty boring. I did think Julianne Marguiles did an okay job in the film.

yeh, but the flashback scene in the middle of the movie kicked ass, with the hook under th neck and all, that still makes me cringe.

It was alright in a non-horror sense

Ghost Ship wasnt a bad movie per say but unfortunately it was very bland. To me it seems they were warming up Julianna Marguiles for feature films rather than trying to produch a great film.

The opening sequence was awesome, but the rest was boring. It might have been better if it had been scarier. Okay movie, but nothing great. Only rent if your really curious.

Complete shit! Typically awful, mainstream, American horror dross.

Just seen it and got what I expected.
Excellent beginning, decent ending but nothing memorable in between.
Dodgy digital effects that made the movie look like animation with live actors at times.
Not scary at all but some decent gore.

Should have known it would be mild, crowd pleasing horror from it's mainstream status... and this was confirmed in the CGI-riddled opening "massacre".

i expected another dead teeneager film and it ended up being somewhat better than that ..
mainstream - sure .. but it exceeded my very low expectations ..

I'm sure my opinion has already been echoed but I didn't take the time to read this whole thread.
The scene with the boatload of people getting sliced in half was AWESOME! Unfortunately for the rest of this movie, that was the only good part in the whole damn thing and 1 good scene is not enough to make a shitty ass movie anything more than a shitty ass movie with 1 good scene.

Personally, i thought the entire crew and cast should have lined up at the start and got diced in reality by that wire...it would have cheered me up and completly redemed the movie in not being made.
In a 1-10 rating it doesn't even earn a respectable Shit-Movie-Minus but -1000

The only way to properly assess this movie is that even GOOD BURGER was better than this.
