I'm sure that I'm just going through some kind of obsession phase with this one, it'll probably wear off in another week or two. Whenever it does end I'll still love to watch it but my favorites will probably go back to...

It's like this. Which do you think is the better movie, MASH or Dog Day Afternoon? If one were just to ask you like that, you'd more than likely be able to give an answer. It's the same principal only on a much larger scale and done hundreds of times. Naturally, I don't MAKE the list in that manner, that'd take forever.

the thing is though .. it totally depends on my mood ... so many are as well made as another .. but it's my mood that determines what makes it better for me at that time ...

I have an all time favorite top 5 but things sort of blur together after that.

(even then .. 4 of the 5 are interchangable)

Well, the list is more "100 best movies" as opposed to "100 favorite movies", so it's not quite as subjective. I mean, it's all opinion, so it's going to be subjective, but it's rooted in how well the movie is made (not just in terms of acting or effects quality, in the case of Evil Dead and formerly Versus) in addition to how much I personally enjoy it.

my top five:
1. Nightmare Before Christmas. and yes, I know all about how much NBC crap is at Hot Topic. but I have 3 copies of this flick. the VHS the day it was released and the VHS and DVD of the special edition. I love it and I don't care how popular it gets.
2. Edward Scissorhands
3. the Exorcist
4. Beetlejuice
5. Ghostbusters

Someone put Empire Strikes Back in their top five and I must say that it was in my top five until I decided that the Exorcist wasn't just one of the most well-made movies ever, but also a favorite. ESB is definitely the best of the Star Wars franchise.

for your top 100, most of those movies would probly be in my top 100, and many of them would be in the same order. I just don't honestly think I can remember 100 movies that I've seen, even though I'm sure I've probly seen over a thousand.

I remember movies I've seen. If I really sat down and tried to list every movie I've ever seen, and committed to it, I probably could. There might be some where I'd get the name wrong, or wouldn't remember it at all, but I could do it

I don't know if I could put a hundred movies in order, I have a pretty much cemented top 5 but after that it just goes by my mood but I guess if I were going by what the best film is rather than what my favorites are I could get to about 15 or 20 but not 100. It's a great list too I didn't see anything I didn't like, saw a few I haven't seen yet though.

Cobra. A classic Sylvester Stalone movie, corny, extremly violent. I love it. If you havent seen it, I suggest you do. This was my favorite movie for a while.

That is a great movie, I thought I was one of the only people that liked it. My favorite movie at the moment is The Warriors. It always suprises me people rating Terminator 2 over the original I think the original had a better style and wasn't so overblown. The original Terminator has a lot more passion and substance than T2 which relies way more on effects and explosions.

Same with me with Road trip. He hits things just right sometimes.

I still laughed when drew barrymore dropped him like a bad habit :)
