Okay, i am playing the Doom 3 demo on a computer here at work ( i got the game for christmas, but havent been able to play it because the 3rd disc broke before i even finished installing it....)

anyway, i opened a door, and a zombie came out. I dont have the sound on, and it still made me jump. Scared the piss outta me.

Anyone else have that happen in broad friggin daylight?

absolutley. That game is very scary. Although I can't say much about the gameplay and the maps, it's a good game to sit in your room alone in the dark and play.

I still say HL2 is scarier.
Although "Resident Evil 4" is giving it a good run for its money.

i remember playing quake and thinking the zombies were effectively creepy .. but i never jumped at a video game ..

what i DID catch myself doing is physically leaning toward the direction my character is going .. like around a circular staircase - i'm leaning way over in the direction of the stairs - like an idiot.

My kid is funny when he plays games .. he twists and turns his whole body as if he was in the game.

also i learned never to play Duke Nukem with a joystick - i almost puked once.

i loved wiping out a room and then hearing "he he he, Holy Shit!"

The first time I played the original Resident Evil and the damn Cerebus jumps through the window, that scared the shit out of me...

they have made several sequels to duke nukem 3d, however none of them are worth your time. They have been working on Duke Nukem Forever for some 6 or 7 years, poeple are getting pissed off because they won't JUST RELEASE IT ALREADY! It will be ready sometime by the end of this year, and let me tell you, it looks EXTREMLY promising!!!!

good luck 3D realms.;)

they were different games. Kind of like Stargate Atlantis isnt a sequal to Stargate sg1, its a spinoff. Same thing with Duke.

And Duke Nukem Forever was supposed to come out in 96, its been almost 10 fucking years now. It went fromt he quake engine, to the unreal engine, into oblivion....

I hope it will be excellent. They have put so much sweat and blood into this game
