An original HP Lovecraft story adapted into a full feature film which took nearly four years to make shows the best of CULT William Sanderson and Tom Savini in roles that these legends have never been seen in....

Must see!

Why do people put their user names at the bottom of their posts? we know who you are! I can understand if use your initials or anything other than your user name, but this always reminds me of HIGH PREIST WISE.

Sorry, just a little peeved:rolleyes:

ARGH ! First post and it's SPAM !!!!! I need to come up with something special for dicks that do that. Until then:

It doesn't sum up my rage at this infraction, but it will have to do for now.

Although the promoter is a fucking spamming noobie, I looked at the sight and the storyboard has some cool pics.

EV, I see how your heart is in the right place being a filmmaker yourself. However you cannot possibly condone someone who shows up, says "look at my film" in their only post here and is never seen or heard from again, can you ? I would hope not. That's why I'm so blatantly anti-noob spamming. I have 2 films coming out this month that I wouldn't plug here. Why ? Cuz it's not cool to do so. Commercialism in any form sucks. I'll help you out on your films as well. But do me a fav and never spam them here ;)

Dude, it's a forum for indie films. He announced his indie film. You don't want people to see your movies? I don't get the hostility in these situations. The post was plainly about a new film that was coming out.

I really like that new board a guy announced on Fango (can't rememeber which one now because there were so many in the past couple of weeks). ANyway, it has a forum titled SPAM. Of course, this board has something like "Pimp your movies here", doesn't it?

There is. There is a thread titled "Pimp your flicks here". All Spam should be moved to that thread. That other board I checked that had the legitimate "SPAM" section, that section was empty.

Correction, adom. Yes, there is a thread called "Pimp Your Flicks Here" that was made by a noob trying to gain a little interest in his forgettable film, however it remains untouched by most who visit here, shunned by all who visit here frequently, and abhorred by any of the regulars. Unless it is an already a bona fide classic film, everyone will slam it around here. Once again, this is not a serious film making forum around these parts. Never has been, never will be. If someone asks a question, I'm always willing to point them in the right direction. If someone shows up with a "me! me! me! my film! my film! my film!" attitude, they will more than likely be chewed up no matter how good their film is. I do know you from other boards and respect you as a person and a filmmaker. However, if you showed up here only to plug your film on your first post (like so many others have done), I would attack you as would many members here simply because you were an outsider who made no effort to join the community, but had arrived to exploit it. House rules around here. I don't make them up, but I vigorously enforce them. I know Fango and other boards allow it with no problem and that's more than cool as far as I'm concerned. The Spam rule is in effect around here for obvious reasons.

Isn't this technically plugging your films? I mean, mentioning specifics like "2 films" and "coming out this month" sound a bit "pluggy" to me. :D

I heard heard of this HP Lovecraft movie before hand in one of the many horror news letters I get. I checked out the trailer when I first got that and thought it looked cool. I can't say I'm going to lose interest in the movie simply because of the fact it was "spamed" on here.

Really, spam has come to mean anything that mentions anything for sale. It used to mean completely unsolicited sales emails for useless things, like "penis enlargement" and "get out of debt" schemes. On a board marked for indie horror, announcing the availability of an indie horror movie should not be considered spam.

I mentioned neither by name, nor gave any specifics on them or where they can be purchased, etc. Most people here know what I do and if interested in what I'm up to can click the link in my signature if interested. Otherwise I have no intentions of ramming it down everyone's throats in such a crass way as multiple "look at me ! " threads. :D
