Has anyone else seen/heard anything about this movie yet? I heard about it awhile back and just saw the commercial on tv for it awhile ago. I really want to see it.

It sound really original i mean ive never...... wait a fucking second goddamit its a ginger snaps rip off why the hell dont sam raimi, wes craven, and tim burton all get on a plane and ram it into a fucking mountain. All these so called great directors as of recent cant come up with anything good so there remaking everything or in this case ripping off imo the greatest movie ever. Fuck you Wes Craven (who once was the master of terror with films like LAst house, and hills have eyes, and Elm Street) but all he is now is another hollywood sellout. I will not be seeing this abomination nor do i condone seeing it.

Actually it sounds nothing like Ginger Snaps. In GS the girls turn to wolves based on the menstral cycle, that doesn't happen in this one. I love how people think something is a rip off just because it might seem to have an element or two from another movie. This is about a brother and sister, I didn't know that a boy can mensrate.
It looks okay. I will certainly see it since I love Christina Ricci.

Your an idiot her period did not cause a change it was simply used as a metaphor for re-birth. As a matter of fact it is a rip off and let me guess your favorite horror film is scream or i know what you did last summer or possibly underworld. The stories may not be identicle but it is a rip off.

haha you can't even explain how...
Looks great, I'll definately go see it.
HS students become werewolves, they're both rip-offs of Teen Wolf.
The CG dog does look pretty bad. The wolf, however, is old school giant hairy puppet, al-la Bad Moon, which I happen to like, so if nothing else decent gets to the theatre, and I have time, I'm seeing this.
I'll miss its first weekend though because we're hosting a table at Megacon those three days. Maybe that Tues.

Actually in my opinion Scream and IKWYDLS were both huge pieces of crap. The only thing good about Scream was the Randy character. Outside that it was horrible. Underwold was another movie that I disliked very much. If you would like to know my favorite horror movie, it's the original Night of the Living Dead which I first saw when I was 4 years old. In fact I dislike most "new generation" horror movies. There are a few decent ones but for the most part they aren't very good.

Just saw this tonight. It was kinda corny, and the acting was pretty bad, but it was alright for a werewolf flick. Christina Ricci, and Josh Jackson looked good at least.;)

I havent seen it but it looks like absolute crap for the reason its a werewolf movie and it has that chick off American Pie in it..
Wes Craven is a good director, but I dont know why the fuck he is doing this.

I saw it Monday. I've gotta admit. For a film that underwent more facelifts than the king of pop himself, it was a pretty good werewolf movie. The CGI at the end with the werewolf attacking Ellie and her bro Jesse was horrendous looking though.

I kind of want to see it but I may wait till it goes to the dollar theatre, that way if I don't like it I would not have spent too much money on it.

I agree with almost everything in there...but Tim Burton? Why Tim Burton? 'Cause he remade Planet of the Apes, and is doing a movie BASED ON A NOVEL which happened to have already had a very good adaption? Replace him with John Carpenter, then Id be happy

Thats like saying Friday the 13th is a rip off of halloween.

Hilary Swank was on beverly hills 90210 and she's a great actor, everybody has to start somewhere.
Cursed did not suck...well not all of it. I just saw it last night (had to race before it was out of theatres entirely. The dollar theatre around here is like a demilitarized zone.)
Anyway, the wolf was pretty good looking IMO and some of the acting was ok. You could tell the sequences Wes Craven enjoyed directing and the ones that were sort of "phoned in".
If you can hold out past the first 20 minutes or so you'll get a treat, then another 15 minutes and something else worth watching. I can see why people did not make it to the end of this movie, but there are at least 30 minutes in there that are worth watching. If it had gone straight to video it would have been considered a masterpiece.

Eh, I'm not sure if this is out or not...if it is, my apologies.
My mom got the bootleg copy and said it was shit.
Has anyone seen or heard good/bad things about this film? I haven't seen it yet.

Nope. There's a lot wrong with this movie, from Ricci phoning it in to Craven taking the easy way out of every subplot (using lycanthropy to wrestle??) to the ending (werewolf giving "the bird"). I highly recommend skipping it.

Damn. It's that bad? What's the plot anyways?
But eh yeah, I'm more of a psycological thriller type girl then a werewolf /vampire/goblin type...

Nothin psychological about this movie, let alone anything even remotely involving the brain...

Cursed = An American Ginger Snaps rehash with a hot young cast, but minus the originality.
Definately not one of Craven's best, but if you have it laying around and you're bored, it might be worth a free viewing.

This was crap. I expected a good film but when I heard it was PG-13 my expectations died. I guess I was right.
Sure the film had some good actors but the effects...a little too weird for me.
