View Full Version : Complete lack of motivation

I have been killing myself these past several days writing a nice little picture gallery/convert image to XML program and i have finally run out of steam.
I am also writing a couple of stories, and playing Quake, but i cant seem tot get motivated to do anything. In fact, the only thing i did with any real motivation this morning was go to the bathroom, because shitting myself is less pleasant than just sitting here.
any ideas about what might get my ass moving?

You can keep that shit up there where it belongs. As Lewis Black says "We should build a huge wall on the border.....BECAUSE THATS WHERE ALL THE FUCKING COLD AIR COMES FROM"

Ever hear what Lewis Black said about winter in Boston? He said he saw Lightning during a snow storm once when he was in Boston....
If that isnt a sign that there is a gateway to hell in that city somewhere, i dont know what is...
Actually, ive been to the gateway. its called the T. (thats the subway system for anyone who has nbever been to boston).
I think there is another one near the zoo. Boston has a great aquarium, art museum, science museum.... The you go to the zoo, and i swear to god, they have "ghetto animals". the lions looked like they turned tricks to support their smack habit. It really was a depressing little shithole.

thats one thing Toronto has is a great zoo ..
I have torn feelings about zoos to begin with ... its not their natural habitat..etc... but they are treated well .. enjoy a life expectancy they would neve have in the wild ...
and the toronto zoo is huge.. outside of the city.unlike some inner-city zoos where the animals have no space to move.
outside of toronto there is a travesty though - called marine world and game park. This place should be shut down ..
huge marine animals in little tanks and even worse .. a deep concrete surrounded area where about 15 brown bears wade in 5 ft deep water begging for mashmallows ...
no where near as funny as it sounds ...

Same with the zoo in boston. it was just pathetic. Plus, every person you see there is a Boston native.... And it's a huge understatement to say that on average, they are less than polite.
Newb can back me up on that....
I try not to venture into Bean Town but seeing that my sister-in-law lives there...its kinda hard to avoid.
I'm not sure if they are rude or just apathetic. Same thing...I guess.

Actually, Boston is a beautiful city with great places to visit. Just dont expect the average person on the street to be very freindly.
On a similar note, my boss got his ass kicke dby a couple of drunk irishmen a couple of years ago in boston. They werent boston irish, but real irish people. They got deported.
Its definatly worth a visit. They have a nice aquarium and the musuem of science among other things. Fine dining and nightlife.
Drunk Irishmen. Kinda redundant.

we're looking at putting in an aquarium but its meeting with a lot of resistance.
it doesnt make a lot of sense really because there isnt anything interesting indigenous to the area .. our fish are grey, brown, dirty green little buggers. Not much to look at.
you guys should check out Toronto ...
I'm like a goodwill ambassador for the town .. i really do love the place...

Newb is a good ol' red blooded 'Mercan. Gotta respect a man who is true to his own standards :)
I happen t like fruit in my beer. Lime in some, Lemon in others. Nothing else, though. I got REAL sick one night and the last thing i had consumed was a raspberry beer....
Beer is not a girl drink and should never be treated like one.

i draw the line on a wedge of lime in a corona .. or sol.
some people swear by those other flavoured beers though .. desert beers.
i basically like a light cold corona in the summer, and something dark in the winter ...

I can just see Newb sitting around the house drinking a tall frosty bud, wearing a pink neglige....
You like Cigars, newb? that would really complete the image... And some pink fuzzy high-heeled slippers....
"Alright! the Pats are winning! Pass me another beer! Ouch... These garters really chafe...."

A full quarter of the school i went to was Canadian.
The sad thing was how bad the Newfies and French Canadians got picked on by the other Canadians. You people can be downright brutal....

thats weird .. you dont see it over here ..
but people are odd out of their element ...
probably a sad attempt to elevate their standing in another country .. they established a pecking order so they wouldnt be at the bottom ..

The funny thing was that the canadians and americans picked on each other, but it was always freindly jabs. Occasionally you would get an eliteist ass hole on one side or another, but for the most part, there was never any big deal.
Of course, you could always count on this at least once a day:
American: C'mon... say "Aboot" again...
Canadian: Leave me alone. We dont say "aboot", we say "Aboot"!

Never been to Boston....but for fuck sakes, drive an extra 5 minutes and go to Salem!!!!! God I love that city...only been there for ?4? days, but it amazed me. We were so confused trying to get there though...for like 2 hours, we just drove in circles around this little highway type thing.... lol....a cop had to [Im not making this up] escort us to the road we wanted to be on [I think we were fucking up traffic or something...]

To most americans, its like night and day. I guess that make sus the weird ones....
There was a joke at the base we were stationed at. The airplanes we had there were AWACS, also known as the boeing e3-a.
The joke was that the canadians had named it. otherwise, it would have been the e3-huh.
