Dont get me started on this one.....

Next thing you know, there will be reality shows about the making of reality shows, "Behind the real world" and other such bullshit.

Reality shows prove 2 things:

People get off on other's suffering (even "normal" people)
Creativity, for the most part, is dead. Why write an episode of a show when you can set up some asshole with 30 gold digging bitches and folliow them around with a camera?

People make money off of it, people bet on who will win, the loser gets his dick sucked by a woman who would not even talk to him if he wasnt worth 1 mil....

AND on top of it all, we are rewarding the lowest dregs of society with glamorous, rewarding carreers. Nick and Jessica, anyone? They were both pretty much washed up has-beens by the time their show started. Now, they get variety shows (christ, those things sucked when sonny and cher did them, and at least cher can sing....)

And not only has miss lache (or whatever) seen her carreer take off, and has gotten MORE money for making fun of the fact that she is a fucking airhead, her no-talent little sister now has a carreer....

Oh yes, and nick loves his wife so much, he goes to strip clubs, ON CAMERA, when he isnt home...

Maybe nutcases liek Jerry Falwell are right and the world will end soon. I cant wait to meet these people in hell and shove a hot sword up their asses.

entertainment derrived from the same mentality that causes people to slow down and fuck up traffic to they can check out someone elses misfortune (an accident)... and then tell everyone at work about it ...
somehow they think that makes them important.

Oh, but i love those people....

true story. A couple of years ago, i had a nice silver VW Jetta with all the fun things in life (Sun roof, heated leather seats, electric everything, big beautiful v6, the works.)

I was on my way to visit my wife who was then my girlfreind. she lived 3 hours away. it was a really nasty april storm, freezing rain, some snow, just a complete bitch.

i was going about 35, when i saw something crossing the road. I tried to turn away to avoid it, but the car started sliding. i turned into the oncoming lane (no cars were coming. in fact, i hadnt seen a car in 15 minutes), but still managed to slide enough so that i couldnt get out of the way.

I plowed into a moose. I hit her front legs with the right side of my car.The oimpac t was enough to take the passenger-side upper right corner of the roof and make it touch the passenger's headrest.

the car was totalled, the moose was dead, and i was fucking terrified. Later, i was sitting ina cop car, watching them pick up what was left of my car and then cars started driving by. At least 10 in a 15 minute period stopped and asked if anyone had lcaimed the moose carcass yet (i let the cop give it to his brother in law. technically, the moose was mine)

Every last one of them waited until AFTER they found out they couldnt have the moose to ask if the driver had survived....

Fucking people, i tell ya. And they wonder why i am so cynical....

At any rate, that is how i see regular viewers of shows like Real-Tv. If you are watching "Wildest police chases" or :Sports disasters", you are usually watching people put themselves in harm's way on purpose, so i can understand enjoying watching them, but so many of these things are just people getting shit on.

And shows like Survivor and Fear factor... Well, i dont watch them, but i gfeel jack shit for the people on them. $50,000 is not worth eating a live animal or a giant penis.

I felt really bad, too. I figured what happened was thelast thing either of us wanted that night.

However..... That pic reminds me... there was a flying squirrel weeping in the woods later....

I think i get the gist of what you were attempting to say, though. Were you wondering if much of what they do in reality tv shows is fixed? Quite a bit.

Notice "Reality" shows have nothing at all to do with real life, they are "normal" people in abnormal situations, where money is made on them treating others like shit, and stabbing each other in the back to come out on top. Also notice the biggest dickheads always look surprised when they get fucked as hard as they were trying to fuck someone else.

Networks love "reality" tv, because they get drama and viewers, and it requires very little work. There are no witers, there is no plot, because those are hard to make, but they nudge these people in the directions they want them to go. Its like a lazy sitcom and/or soap opera. PLus, once everything is said and donbe, they OWN those people.

Look at American Idol. Those people who win and are runners up are never going to have a regular carreer. They signe don with the devil (figuratively) and those deals promise high payoff with little work. it always ends up bad. They belong to that contract, they have to do and go what the record company tells them.

PLus, the early episodes of the show are basically a hihghschool game of "Pick on the fat kid or other loser".
