A long time ago I maintained a site called The Essential Army of Darkness. Before the days the special edition DVDs made it easy to see the bonus stuff, I collected versions of AoD from all over, carefully documenting the differences between each version and posting screenshots and video clips of the differences.

While I hunted for the different versions of AoD, I came across an old VHS tape of short movies that Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi had made in college and high school, including Within the Woods. I put the video in my closet where it sat for years and years. I've now decided to put them up on the internet for everyone to enjoy.

The first one I posted is Cleveland Smith, a parody of Indiana Jones, starring Bruce Campbell as Cleveland, Sam Raimi as a Nazi, and directed by Josh Becker (the man behind Thou Shalt not Kill Except... among others).

You can see Cleveland Smith at horrorjunk.com (http://www.horrorjunk.com). About 1 movie per week will be posted until I run out of movies to post. Enjoy!

Uh, no, it's free. You have to register though. I won't sell your email address or anything, but I do pay a lot for bandwidth, so I don't think it's too much to ask.

I don't remember how I got my hands on the video, to be honest. Back when I was maintaining the site, I put up requests for people in other countries to send me their versions of AoD as well as ED and ED2. People would send me their versions and I sometimes wouldn't open them immediately. I also scoured comic book conventions and things for those bootleggers of foreign films before DVDs got so popular and cheap. They would offer obscure stuff and I'd always buy it. I'm sure I got the video from one of those 2 places.

I liked it. TERRIBLE picture/sound quality...but hey, Id never seen anything w/ Bruce [Excluding his cameos in the Spiderman movies], so It was a good intro. Too bad I needed to register to watch it though....

He plays one of the cops in "Intruder" . Sam Raimi is also in it. :)

The video is obvious a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy... the video and audio aren't great, but for someone who needs to see everything that Bruce and Sam have been involved in, there ya go. I'm sorry everyone seems so opposed to registering, but just remember that this stuff isn't free for me to make. I bought a new video capture card for this project, registered a domain and spent a lot of time getting everything put together. Then I pay for bandwidth, and that movie is like 9 megs alone. It gets real expensive, real quick. Registering means that you WANT to see them rather than just want to waste my bandwidth and take my money.

Also if you register, I can contact you when a new video is put up. Registration is a 30 second process, and putting up that video took hours.

Miserable gits - I'll register tomorrow.

By the way, I have a copy of Army of Darkness from Japanese laser - I know it is different to the original UK & USA releases, but not sure if the content is the same as any recent Western special edition DVD.

Can't remember if it has the Japanese "Captain Supermarket" title on it, but I can check.
