Shit quality, in terms of...?
If it's just that they're old films, I can deal with that...
If it's that they're all compressed onto a dvd, and are more like vcd quality, as long as it's as good as commercial vcd quality, I'll be ok.
The main consideration for me is that I've only seen maybe 5-6 of the films on the list...I'm not THAT into horror this oldskool, but I have to admit, there have been some fucking golden movies from that era...
So yeah, I figure that this'll be a good opportunity to expose myself to some old horror, as I've nost seen all that much pre-1970's. Yup, I think I'm gonna get it.
Dracula in Dallas would probably really love this collection too.

I read a review of this box set on Amazon.com and most people said it was low quality and that those movies should be in a suspence box set instead of a horror box set. I don't know if you've ever seen this kind of old "horror" film before but they really aren't very good. If you want it you should check out Amazon too, I think you may be able to get it cheaper on there.

quality in terms of transfer .. these films are all public domain .. it basically costs the company only what it takes to make them .. thats it. they also usually put 4 or more movies on one disc .. which isnt too bad as most of them are under 70min and black and white ..
so there are pops and bad video, etc .. but it is still well worth it .. watchable if you arent too fussy.
Just pretend you're watching the tube at 3 in the morning :)

If you ask me, this will make the old films feel more authentic...
Nah, I aint too picky, especially in terms of really old stuff.

Thanks SR...
Yeah f13, the ad on ebay showed the other range of collections under the same brand, I didn't really look at what films they had...an old comedy one would probably be good, I might go check it out.

Yes, I was looking at that, although I'm unfamiliar with all but about 5 of the titles on that one too...
There was also a comedy set that looked ok, in 50 films there'd have to be at least a few laughs:D
I've not yet checked out the action set.

Hey Cheeba I saw at HMV 10 horror movies for $10.

The website does not say what is on it, and I can't remember off the top of my head :(
But it might be worth checking out.

the ones you saw in the 50 pack will cover most of the other sets anyway ... you'll see these same public domain titles repeated over and over again ..
hell I'm suprised Vod isnt pimping a set of his own compilation on his website :D
