Shinobi wants to know how a person would go about obtaining voice lessons...Apparently the Yellow Pages (my suggestion) is not a viable option...

I learned how to sing by screaming. I know that doesn't help you. But it helped me :p

Nothing can train your voice more than going on a long road trip armed with your fav CD and a pack of cigs, and just belting out!

My rule of thumb is to NOT stop driving/singing until my vocal chords are stripped raw and I popped a few veins in my forehead.

I could agree with the fav CD and a road trip. But a pack of Cigs? You're joking.

When your vocal chords are hurting that is good because that means that your streching them.

The more higher notes you try to sing the more your vocal chords will strech.

Yeah, I was just joking. Well, in regards to suggesting it for someone else. I was just describing what I do...but I happen to be a smoker. So, a pack of cigs is a given.

Practice, practice, practice and more practice. That's how I got my wonderful voice. Try not to imitate or mimic another singer, go with your own voice.

I know voice lessons are good for your vocal range and control, but I still think you can either sing or you can't. I have sang since I can remember. Just came naturally to me and my brother.

I have heard you though BR and you have a nice voice....but if you want to go for it!

Thats true, either you have a good voice or you don't. But singing lessons will make you five times better. Its not like you can just sing perfectly one day

Did you get any lessons?

Why... yes I am a singer in a band. the band "Sedated Replica"

Did I even take lessons.... no.

I would take lessons, they'll only make you better. Unlike what 'Crape' says.... I did mimic other singers growing up and thats the best way to understand your range.

I have MP3's of my band, if you want to hear. To prove I'm not lying

Instant Voice Lesson #1 : If someone kicks you in the nuts, your voice will immediately be higher, therefore allowing you to skip all this practice nonsense. I'll send you a bill later for my advice. :D

I listened to the mp3 you sent, and I'm not an expert or anything...but that was very good shit!

You have a good voice, man. Very versatile.

I wish you and your band good luck with getting signed, etc.

Anyway, you can feel free to send me any songs you like...whenever you get a chance. I would be glad to give some of your other stuff a listen.

I don't know about Kentucky, but here in austin there are many music schools that teach voice, piano, guitar, pretty much everything.

My new keyboardist is a teacher at one of these said schools, he teaches voice and piano, so i get free voice lessons from him...which is a plus.

If you're lucky, get me on AIM and I'll send you a few. You can even ask BR, she has a few of my bands songs.

@Haphazard, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at by thinking that I would believe I would have a big "cack", seeing as the word "cack" means shit, or to take a shit, then well yes, I have taken a few of those in my 18 years of being alive. But if it's some immature, adolescent, naive way to say something else, well then I will just laugh in your general direction for being so retarded.

Why are people so fucking stupid when it's not needed?

If I'm lucky.....? I will take you up on this offer.

You just seem alittle 'cocky' (no pun). I'm a singer and I don't act like my voice is Wonderful.

but we'll see

Everyone knows that I'm cocky and have a large ego, that's just how I am. And yes, if you're lucky, that being meant as that I'm busy all the time and I don't get around to being on the computer that much anymore.

Oh for the love of god. You can drop the "I'm so dark and humorless that it hurts to smile" bullshit act.

I was just ribbing you, man. I wasn't fucking attacking you! It could've been anyone that I was replying too. My god...I was being whimsical and fancyfree...LOL!

I sang for a band back in high school and I sounded terrible, didn't know what I was doing. I remember I'd sing in a really low octave to sound cool and I could barely hear myself over the monitor. Once I hit college I just played guitar and stopped singing. Dunno why I told that story, but that's my story of me being a sucky singer.

Someone just used the phrase "whimsical and fancy-free".
