I like "The beyond". Find it to be Fulci´s best.
I think the grossest movies ive seen are:
1. "Braindead". I still cant eat and watch that movie at the same time. It´s amasing how much Peter Jackson gets out of a low budget. So fun and so damn gross at the same time... Hail!!
2. "Fist of the north star - the manga cartoon movie". I Know it´s pathetic to mention a cartoon movie, but that one is hardcore. ;)

It all depends on which is grosser to you. Incest is gross, but not visually gross. If you don't know that guy is fucking his underage prostitute daughter, it just seems like some asian bloke fucking some asian chick. Also, there's some off-screen stuff. Salo has shit eating and gay sex. It's been a while, so I don't quite remember how explicit it gets, but there is Italian man on man sex.
Salo is more or less a fetish movie disguised as art. Visitor Q is unpleasant, but it's a good movie.

its not so cold and clinical when you're watching your own child being born .. your heart and mind is deep into it.
I remember seeing it on TV when i was a kid and i almost lost my cookies ... the kid comes shooting freefall down a metal shiny table in a flood of white gunk only to do a bungie bounce on the cord.
it weren't pretty and i freaked.
Older, and hopefully wiser now, all i could think about when my sone was born was 'lets get him outta there and I hope he's healthy'
that negates the gross-out factor.

actually i just thought of the grossest scene i know ...
in Day of the Dead one guy got his head slowly pulled off by the zombies ..
He was screaming the whole time and as his head was being pulled off his scream was going higher pitched as you might think it would as the vocal cords stretch ... only to get cut off mid scream as the head came completely off.
Visually it wasnt disturbing but accompanied by the sound ... yuck !
actually there was a scene in The Relic where the creature pulls a guy apart right in front of the camera ... it was so well done and in your face that it was somewhat disturbing as well..

Faces of Death pretends to be real when a lot of stuff is faked. It loses most of it's disturbing points because of that
I truely can't think of one single horror/slasher/blood-n-guts type movie that grossed me out at all. I can eat a plate of speggetti while watching dawn of the dead without so much as a wince.
I have physically touched a persons intestines after he was sliced open with a lawnmower blade, covering them with a tee shirt and pouring water over it. That didn't bother me in the least (As a matter of fact, I thought it was kinda cool - a long story)! I have had so much blood on me after a guy got stabbed 17 times, (severing his brachial artery), that my left shoe squished when I walked. What did bother me though, was when he puked! that was nausiating. (another long story).
Personally, the things that gross me out is puke, runny puppy shit, and runny baby shit! Yuck!!!

I watched We Were Soldiers again last night, I know it's not horror, but that scene where the US are Air Striking and the Napalm bombs land too close to the Americans, and they get burned, and that Jap guy gets fried. Then that reporter/photographer guy goes to help the other guy lift him up, and when he grabs both his legs, the burnt skin slides back and comes off in his hands...... pretty gross.

his stuff is too goofy to be gory.
I would have a nice pic of him with his arm around me if my camera hadnt kak'd when i was at a convention many years ago.
I was the only person who asked him for an autograph (the youngsters didnt know him from adam) and he seemed thrilled when i asked him for an autograph and a picture with him.
cool old guy..funny too.
There's a movie out now [ limited run, from the looks of it ] called Murder-Set-Pieces, thats supposed to be pretty gory. I'll watch for the DVD release.
"Premutos: Lord of the Living Dead" ,a movie by german director Olaf Ittenback, is quite gory.

I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again. If I know something is fake, I can stand to watch just about anything. But knowing that those lizards etc. were being actually cut open just made me want to cry/puke.

cool old guy..funny too. The repetetive hatchet-chopping into the chick's head, making her brains look like chili, while she was sitting up in the chair...and the squeezing, popping, and oozing of the eyeball just got to me somehow...Maybe it was because I was pregnant at the time, I don't really know, but for some reason this one (and ONLY this one) actually 'got to me'

That movie was granted a mere "15" certificate in the UK - if anybody but Steven Spielberg had been behind that horrifically protracted stabbing scene, it would have been "18" rated or cut.
The BBFC favour established, crowd-pleasing directors when it comes to difficult scenes - tough luck on independent film makers of course.
Allmykids: track down Faces of Gore to restore your faith in genuine mondo/shockumentary.
Very gross movies indeed are Aftermath (graphic, raw necrophelia with none of the humour or daftness of Nekromantik), Guinea Pig: The Flower, The Flesh & The Blood (very realistic mutilation effects) and Ebola Syndrome (wanking in meat, raping of virally-afflicted tribeswomen, general disease-spreading goings on).
Have fun!

Word of warning: Grossness isn't the half of it. It's very unpleasant and disturbing (not in the movie-disturbing, *insert underground gory horror movie here* way, either), and made me really uncomfortable at times. Granted, it may have been what Miike was going for, and it is a good movie, but you probably won't enjoy it at all.

I worked in a Maximum Security Prison for 14 years and was a cop for 2 1/2 years. I've been involved in riots, major disturbances, gang fights, and hundreds of cell extractions. I was in the Institutional Emergency Squad for about 12 years and was the Field Commander and A Trainer for a couple of years. I have seen more violence (especially in 1985 and 1986) in a normal working day then most people see their entire life. I quit the I.D.O.C. for a job with GM, making a hell alot more cash. Although I have been involved in alot of shit (and court appearances) and have been injured several times, I wouldn't trade that experience for anything in the world. There is nobody on the street or in a bar that can get me the least bit nervous or fearful.

for me there have been 2 extremely non-horror moments that have disturbed me than anything in a horror flick..
1) american history X ... when edward norton killed the car thief on the curb ... nasty.
2) a beautiful mind ... when the guy has his baby on his knee and its screaming and crying - in need of comfort - and he's obvlivious, gazing off into space ...
for some reason that really bothered me.
Actually it bothers me in real life too ... a baby crying and being ignored ... not because of the noise ... but because all it wants is to be held ..
man i must be emotionally scarred or something.

Gore does not always equate with grossness; that is for certain. Especially when the gore is overdone.
Somebody mentioned Saving Private Ryan; I tend to agree, but not because of the knife scene. I was much more disturbed by the soldier who got shot, and Tom Hanks' character asks him how they can help him, and he just says "Give me more Morphine", and then when he's fixing to die, he keeps calling out for his mother. Very disturbing. I can't even watch it again.
Also worth mentioning is The Girl Next Door (no, not that dumb teen comedy). It's loosely based on a true story. Two sisters go to live with their aunt, because their parents have died and they are basically orphans. As it turns out, the aunt is horribly abusive. Basically, there is little or no gore, but this sick movie doesn't need it. It's what they don't show, what is left to the imagination, that makes it so disturbing. There is torture involved (The aunt burns off the older girls' clitoris with one of those little mini blowtorches), and there is also rape (The aunt allows one of her sons to rape the girl while she is tied to the bed). All in all, it is very sick, and I had a bad feeling for days after I watched it.

There was a scene in City of God (2002) where Local drug lord Lil' Z went to exacts revenge on a gang of 9 and 10 year olds and forcing one of his own kid soldiers, to choose a kid from that little gang & kill. Faced with death, one of the captured kids starts crying and later on.. Lil' Z shoots on the kid's foot...!! Truly...I was shocked & horrified by that one.

In Ireland we have these big complexes flauting the deaths of innocent animals - they're insides packaged and displayed like some sick surreal art. We call them supermarkets..
I think i've seen everything mentioned on this thread but nothing here comes close to TUMBLING DOLL OF FLESH (its also shit and boring but it is very sick):

Psycho Snuff Reels by the same guy is more of the same sick boring shite too. The Mordum trilogy is pretty nasty (though I do kinda like em) and so is the short TORCHED. People seem to freak over Philosphy of the Knife - i didn't think it was that bad though i was kinda fucked up at the time (I watched that AFTERMATH and Grim Love in a row LOL)
