Maybe there's been a thread for this but I haven't seen it and I only watched this movie for the first time tonight. I was trying to convince my mother to watch a Christmas movie but she wanted to watch A Clockwork Orange...I finally convinced her to watch the movie I had just rented. She complained that it was stupid at first but soon enough we were both cracking up...I LOVE this movie. Why have I never heard more about it? It was an amazing mix of black humor, romance, and some awesome, often comical, violence. Still want to watch a Christmas movie though >.>;;. Last year I ended up watching the Evil Dead trilogy on Christmas eve...So help me I will watch A Christmas Story at least once by then...or maybe Dead Alive one more time. Damn it was good. Surprisingly good. Are there anymore movies like this I should know about?

if you liked Dead Alive then run out and get your hands on Peter JAckson's other horror movie 'Bad Taste'

I dont know which is better - they are both insanely funny.

What doesnt say merry christmas more - than blowing up a sheep ?

Dead Alive is a really stupid name. It's called Braindead over here, which I think is a far better title. Both Braindead and Bad Taste are great movies I've loved for years. Watch Silent Night, Deadly Night for a good xmas movie.

My mother made me watch the Rocky Horror Picture show at 9 and the Evil Dead at 10...kept me with the Gremlins movies at a young age (scary for a little kid, all right?)...I blame her for screwing me up >.>;;. She is an awesome mom though ::cough:: when she's sober ::cough::. She hasn't cared what I watch from the age of thirteen. She knows I own some pretty demented stuff and that's fine...as long as she gets to borrow it...

I've already seen Versus several times. Loved it.

Heh, probably true. One of my most vivid memories is of the girl getting a pencil stabbed in her ankle. When I have a kid of my own I'm gonna be a bit more protective >.>;;. Of course I don't think any movie scared me as much as a kid as Mars Attacks did. I don't know why but I was absolutely terrified of that movie. It kept me up at night weeks after I had watched it. BTW I was relatively young when it first came out.

Hehe, Ichi the Killer...my dreamy Tadanobu Asano...Another great/hillarious horror movie. I'll check out Bad Taste. I had seen it at Netflix and at some rental places nearby but I never even bothered to flip the box over. Cover didn't catch my interest. I'll give it a go though, never can judge a book by it's cover...er movie...er DVD...whatever...
