What could be real?

Ghost, aliens, vampire, werewolves, zombies, etc.

All of the above, and more, have filled people with fear for ages. But unlike Freddy Kruguer or Jason, these are single entities set out on detsroying a few people here and there. These are groups...species of beings that have captures the imagination for generations now.

So I ask, what do you think could be real? Real in the sense of movie/book portrayal, what horror out there is quite possibly not fiction, and how would it differ from what is portrayed in movie/books?

I've no problem in thinking aliens are real, although not necessarily the Earth destroying race that they are portrayed as. I also think ghost are real, but I do believe there is some sort of scientific explanation for them. These are just a couple quick reference to start this forum. Feel free to delve as deep as you'd like.

Well, I don't know much about the subject, but I think that there are plenty of origins for myths about Vampires and Werewolves that were eventually collaborated by people like Bram Stoker to create a book or film about them... There were lots of stories about blood-drinking humans and evil people and the undead and such throughout history... one of the most interesting things that I do remember was that at certain times, people would go into comas (or a similar state), be mistaken for dead, and be buried alive... they would then proceed to dig themselves out of a shallow grave and come back to town, taken for a zombie, and killed on the spot...

As for me, I need to feed... gotta score me some blood... er, breakfast...

THE POINT I'M TRYING TO MAKE IS THAT ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE REAL TO A CERTAIN EXTENT THE STUFF YOU SEE IN THE THEATER IS AN EXAGGERATION OF THE TRUTH MADE TO BE MORE INTERESTING.

Cool topic, love philosphy, good book to read "Chariots of the Gods" by Erich Von Daniken, makes you think of how we came to be on this planet, perhaps as just an experiment. Ancient Egyptian architecture is very mathematically advanced, plus there are drawings of aircraft looking things in hyroglyphics. A lot of Egyptian religion shows Ra the sun god coming from the sky. Vlad the Impaler was the original dracula, he was a ruler in Romania, forgive me I dont recall the time period I wanna say 13th century, he was known for his torture and impaling heads on spears and other interesting things. I believe that the idea of Werewolves came from the Indians were they would dress in animal clothing during rituals, I also believe that the Aborginies did this also. Personally i believe anything supernatural is possible, I think that if the human mind can think of it on some scale it exists, unicorns, dragons, pegasus, demons so on and so on. I am currently writing a book about a dragon that exists in the 21 century and how certain members of society have communicated with him. I think that they exist up until your parents tell you that they dont and you believe them. They are all; still there you just cant see them because you have been conditioned to their non existence. I will never tell my children that magical creatures dont exist, I think it takes away from their innocence. Being a practicing witch for nearly 20 years I can tell you that it is real, magic that is but not in the sense that you see on TV. My wife and I read each others thoughts and I can communicate mentally with my children. This has always been true of the people that I am close with. I also have the power to know when people are lying when I talk to them but only face to face. In no way am I suggesting I am Psychic but it is there I just dont know what to call it. Man I could go on and on a bout this stuff. but I wont Im starting to become long winded.LOL

I think ghost's are real. I see them all the time out of the corner of my eye. This is what made me believe in ghosts. One night I was watching tv and all of a sudden my alarm clock goes off for no reason. I didn't have it set or anything. It freaked the hell out of me. You may think this is crazy but I think possession is real. Taking over a dolls body or a humans body I think it is real.

I actually believe in possession of dolls. Other things too such as electronics and what not. The universe holds so many secrets it's not even funny. We probably only know about like 0.001% of all things that exist. It's mind boggling IMO.

hm, im kinda hated for this amongst my friends but i dont realy belive in any of that, i can belive there is intelligent life on other plannets though, but not the fact that they come down here to probe our asses....sounds far fetched.

I think it is in the human nature to want to believe there is something else out there.
I believe there is an intelligent life past the outskirts of our planet. Vampires...it's possible...Werewolves...yea...it's possible too... Ghosts Hell yea..they're everywhere. But some times a story is started and by the time our generation recieves it ..it is blown out of porportion. Dracula 2000...kinda made sence to me ..about tying him to the days of Jesus. Werewolves..on a scientific note our goverment does experimentation that would make people wake up screaming at night.. DNA testing... Flesh eating Virus'...very real..I personally have seen and assisted in treating 3 cases of. Very interesting yet frightening.
There is a something wild roaming the mountains in Frederick, Maryland that is believed to have been an experiment at Ft. Ritchie( the mountain) that had escaped and feeds on the deer population in the area. It has red eyes and is covered by course "dog" like fur. When it stands it towers over the height of an average man. When it runs..its animal like on all fours...Werewolf? Bad experiment gone wrong?
Who knows as long as the goverment covers up experimentation. When I was an intern on a Military Facility..there was a listing asking for soldiers to volunteer there bodies for Scientific experimentation...a very nice price was offered for compensation... Could the goverment be the answer for all of the unexplained phenomena? Dont know? But seems like an answer I can better swallow then ..Vamps and werewolves are here JUST BECAUSE...The alien thing...It would only be nieve to think we are the only intelligent lifeforms in a solar system.... JUST MY OPINION... AS ALWAYS.

I believe there is a possibility of aliens, and ghosts for sure. Possession...maybe. I think that Multiple Personality Disorder (Disassociative Identitity Disorder) exists and in many cases people have confused that with possession. Flesh-eating virus and diseases of course, obviously those and psycho serial killers in movies are the most realistic kind of horror. Attacking animals too! (I loved the Willard remake) Yikes!

How come? That's what humans do to animals, and we all know damn well that if we had the technology to go to other planets we would try to do the same thing to any new species we found.
