I figured since I'm an old bastard and have been collecting oddball horrors for a while now I thought I'd do a series of
lesser known films that some of the younger folk might not know.
It'll hopefully give you something to look for once you get tired of
the same old same old.
I'll start off with a favorite of mine, Q (short for Quetzalcoatl)
Directed by Larry Cohen (1982)
It stars Michael Moriarty as a likeable loser who gives a performance that elevates this film much higher than it had a right to be. I've never seen the guy better.
Also David Carradine and Candy Clark as the long suffering 'love interest'
It's basically a monster movie. A giant flying lizard - the Quetzalcoatl - based on Mexican folklore, is terrorizing
New York. I don't want to say anything more than that because the less you know the more pleasantly suprised you'll be by the movie.
It's old school so dont expect flashy CGI or good looking young people - just a good old fashioned monster flick with above average performances.
