Ok, so my school in general is not that bad.
Social Studies lessons however, happen to be the worst wastes of time... EVER.
We have watched one hell of a lot of movies this year. I have no problem with movies. I love movies. But this teacher has one BAD taste in movies.
Last week we watched The Road to fucking El Dorado and today we started watching The Lion King II
OMFG
It is fucked up to say the least.
I'm guessing hes getting slack-er now because it is nearly the end of the term, at which point he is leaving and fucking off to London or some shit. (Good riddance)
I still cannot believe it.
I know you guys are probably thinking "OMG This girl is SO young"
But the truth of it is that I'm not that young, it just so happens I'm having a very bad education.

Sorry, had to vent.

I know how you feel. Last year our English teacher made us watch Brother Bear and Finding Nemo  which i might mention are 2 of the gayest movies ive ever seen.
But our school is doing a new thing where teachers come out and "sweep" the hallways. If anyone is a second late the teachers lock you out and you have to go to In School Suspension for that period. That also counts as an absense and you get a letter sent home for every "tardy".
Stupidest Shit Ever.

Lol, I guess I'm lucky our teachers don't really worry too much about being late.
But they suck anyway...

I saw both of these movies with my daughter in the theater, and i actually cried at the end of brother bear, and thought finding nemo was fucking funny, lol.
But they are probably trying to get some non violent image across and hope you won't go and kill someone if you watch these movies lmao fuck i don't know.

Trust me, in a few years time you will look back on that Social Studies class with its lame movies and dream about being back at school.

jeeeezz you kids have it easy these days...wtf you get to watch films during lessons, even if they are crap ones, all we got was a wack round the head and told to shutup, and made to read an entire book on the physics of molecular structures from back to back.
and as for having letters sent home, If we were caught messing around... we got none of that shit, we were sent to the physical education teacher, who would relish in the fact that he would be able to torture us for an hour in the gym, or outside in the snow if it was winter. He'd make us take our socks and tshirt off and force us to do pressups in the snow and ice, and if we didnt go down far enough he'd put his boot on our backs and force us into the snow....more like boot camp not school.
think yourselves lucky.

You're watching The Lion King in a social studies class? I hope they teach some actual social science between the cartoons.

Yeah, i think the #1 reason to be pissed off is that they are fucking you out of a future. In 10th grade, i had a teacher that made us sit through "My Girl", while the other classes were watching terminator 2.... The sad thing was, that movie was the most useful thing she did all year. 90% of her students failed english that year (myself included, fucking bitch.......) only THEN did they fire her, and those of us that were her students didnt get shit, not even an apology.
I ended up in remedial english my junior year, and for the first 2 weeks of my senior year. if i ever meet that woman again, i will commit a crime. Believe it or not, i was Accepted to Yale my senior year... But imagine where i could be now if i didnt have that blemish on my record.....

are you kidding me ? you could write a huge paper on The Lion King for social science.
How mainstream pap appeals to the common masses.
The Disney science of emotional manipulation through their tried and true formula of killing off a parent or sibling to instantly get the buy in from the kids.
The Lion King is an amazing example of 'safe formula filmmaking'
I could write a nice essay on that one.

Get to work, then. :)
That really is a good call though. I recently saw Hercules. it was entertaining on a shallow and inane level, but i could help but be offended by how much they shit on the story.....
Yeah, Zues and Hera had avery Loving marriage.....
i guess big daddy zues trying to snake every birgin and nymph doesnt make a good family movie..... Then dont fucking make it!
I cant wait for Disney's Calligula!
"He was the Roman Emporer who loved too much!
Robert Townsend as Calligula! Beonce Knowles as the Sister who wouldnt leave his side! (sister meaning Black woman, not blood relative. And they are both black, so we dont step over any interracial bounderis...)
Danny Devito as the spunky little Dildo that could!
Angela Lansbury as the magical Vomitorium keeper! (Be our Guest! Be our Guest! puke that food, 'fore it digests!)
And featuring the Late Ray Charles as Bacchus! Bringer of wine and responsible drinking!.
You'll Laugh! You'll cry! you'll feel your netehr regions tingle with excitement to Calligula! The Roman who Loved!"
Featuring Rosie O'Donnel as the wise-cracking grape-girl.

You could write an essay analyzing almost any movie. That would be a great idea for a college level film, art or sociology course. But in primary school I think it's more important to establish a basic understanding of civics and history. I know kids graduating high school who can't describe our bill of rights, don't know when D-day happened, and think Bloody Kansas was a band(I'm not kidding). I would be pretty pissed if I find out that their teacher wasted one or two class periods watching Simba and Scar prance around.

I completely agree. These days, teachers are entertaining kids while tv babysits and educates them.
Edit: No offense to Stingy Jack and teachers like him.... They actually care about educating kids....

Fisting Firemen Gangbang 1, 2, and 4 all had fluffers. 3 was the only one that was exclusively men. 87 of them at that...

And I know you're a girl. But dude.
What really sucks is that these are probably DVD images you're watching. I don't think they actually project "films" in schools anymore, and I look back really fondly, like some others who've responded on this thread also do, to that wonderful time back when I was in school here in Los Angeles. And yeah, when I was there, I thought it sucked a lot too. But I loved the clicking, whirring sound of the projector, and the flickering light on the pull-down screen.
I remember that they had to darken the room to show the films, and then of course you could fall asleep in class, and no one would notice that you were drooling all over the desk.
Once in English class we watched a film about characters in English literature, and Caroline Munro was in it! I shouted, "Holy crap, that's Caroline Munro!" And no one knew what in the hell I was talking about, of course, because I was a squid geek and they were normies. You know, come to think of it, the kids back then irritated me as much as adults do now.
Peace and love, everyone!

Um ok, write a paper on The Lion King 2 when we are meant to be studying "Crises and disasters."
This teacher is a retard.
Btw, I am in high school, not primary school. That's what makes it all the more screwed....
I WILL NOT SEDUCE HIM.
That is disgusting...

what GRADE are you in? The Lion King II? The Road to El Dorado. I don't know about you, but I'm a soph. in college. In my World Arts:Film class we've watched Monsoon Wedding,Late Marriage,City of God, etc. tell your teacher to grab some culture.

my us history teacher used to actually teach us shit and he was an awesome teacher i learned alot but he was the biggest dork youve ever seen he would reserve the last ten minutes of class to watch "movies"..........the only problem with that is they were always lame ass movies he had sat at home and recorded off lifetime........so one day me and a few friends snuck in and i took one for the team and donated one of my "special entertainment films" that we used to switch his label on to my tape and put it in the VCR..........well lets just say the first thing we saw was a nice little asian girl taking it from behind and some major fake orgasming..........and it was even better because he had the volume up all the way!..............(never got caught)
in 8th grade we watched toy story, bambi and a couple others
:D well if u think baout it these r good stories, morlaly anyway. disney movies r pretty deep if u really think about it
well, maybe not college level deep, but at least middle school/HS lol
