Ok, I did post this in the upcoming movie forum, but it's so interesting I had to post it here. There's a new movie coming out about E.V.P. (Electric Voice Phenomenon) and it looks quite good.

Check out the movie site http://www.whitenoisemovie.com
and also check out http://www.aaevp.com This is a site about EVP and has pictures and sound clips of this phenomenon. It's quite spooky.

I'm talking about E.V.P. It's a Phenomenon in which a voice or picture of someone that has passed can be seen or heard in the white noise created by Radios or Televisions, or just about any ambient sound. I found it to be quite interesting and thought I'd share it. It's kind of strange to think that you can, say, be dictating notes to your personal recording apperatus, and have a voice from beyond end up on the recording that you didn't know was there until you play the tape back.

Here's a little definition:

The practice of attempting to record ghosts is called Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). The sounds that make up EVP are apparently sonic events of unknown origin, which can be heard, and sometimes captured in recordings, on various types of electronic apparatus, including tape recorders and even radio equipment. The voices on the tapes take on diverse forms, sometimes seeming to speak in tongues, singing or speaking in gibberish. The messages often make a sort of backward sense as though communication is difficult. They can also apparently call by name and speak directly to researchers. They can be heard over telephones and as anomalous interference on tape recordings. Some of them seen to enjoy engaging in dialogue, answering questions or supplying personal information about the researchers, possibly as a way of achieving credibility.

Sorry, Just Thought it was kinda interesting and creepy.

cool link, I'm realy interested in that sort of stuff in paranormal / horror films. Just had a browse round the site, and downloading the high deff trailer....wow 98 meg of it. But what concerns me a bit is that Shawn Williamson (House of the dead), is one of the producers and considering this film could have great potential, I just hope that doesnt affect the end result.

LOL....Not quite...I'm more interested in the actual phenomena than the movie, but I thought it was an interesting thing to make a movie about. I guess I did sound like a crusader! :D

HAHAHAH! You don't know HOW many times I've said that this past week, or have been asked that.

"Did you see saw?" Yes, I saw saw. Did YOU see saw...balh, blah, blah...

You get my point. :D

Naw, it's cool dude. I was just playin'

But, yes I agree. I think it is a great topic for a movie. Just the preview alone was kinda creepy. However...I can't help to think that it is total B.S.

Kinda like playing a Beatles record backwards or something: "Didja hear that!? McCartney said: I wanna fuck the devil! No, seriously dude!"

lol

Yeah, I can't say I don't think it could happen, but it seems a bit of a stretch.....I'd like it to happen to me, just so I could know...

Electronic Voice Phenomenom. I've always been interested in EVP's. My daughter and I are going to try this one day in the old
Salem Cemetary. I'm curious to see if it's for real or just a bunch
bull.

I don't really believe in that. You can make one of those samples in SoundForge in an hour.

I agree...Something like that wouldn't be hard to re-create....

I wonder, why don't scientists test those? Doesn't seem too hard to get if it's an authentic proof.

Scientists do test them all the time....They've got a whole procedure to find out if it's real or not...
