I still have a half dozen or so beta players ..
also have movies on VHS, 8MM tape, Laser, DVD...
The basement is practically a shrine to film... movies everywhere.
and posters, and standees ...etc etc
(and McFarlane's Movie Manics)
I have a very understanding wife.

hopefully this wont get me hung here ...
but i've given up on Full Moon films ..
I have a dozen or so (Puppet Master series, Subspecies series, etc) but they started to get really old really fast.
The Romanian locations dont work for most of the films and i've grown weary of the quality of actors they get.
(Although I do like Tim from the Dollman series)
So to answer your question .. sorry, no That's one I dont have...
I quit getting them before demonic toys came along.
(I do have the 1st Dollman though i think)

Romero's Land of the Dead .. which is filming as we speak right here in Toronto.
Toronto has become Zombie Central..
The remake of Dawn of the Dead, and Resident Evil 2 were both filmed here.
I hated RE2 by the way . despite how cool it was to see Toronto blown up good.

at least 8000.. i stopped trying to keep track
The crazy thing is that i have more CDs/Vinyl/Tapes than that, and even more books than the music and movies combined.
Last April we bought a newer bigger house because of all the junk. Its like nothing most people have ever seen in one place before.
I have been told I may be obsessive compulsive :)
Thanks for the welcomes by the way ...

look after it ?
well i had the basement converted into wall to wall - floor to ceiling shelving - and its a big basement. There is also a home theatre. My music and movies are down there.
1/2 the books are in my father in laws basement in boxes until i can get the front room of the house converted into a library/reading room.
the other 1/2 books are filling the 2 car garage - completely.
Hopefully most of the stuff in the garage i'll sell off on ebay.

you think they did good job of dawn of the dead?
urgeok
10-26-2004, 08:19 AM
If you mean the remake ? yeah ..
I am one of the few Romero fans that actually liked the remake.
Some people take issue with the fact that the zombies were 'fast zombies'
I dont have hard and fast rules for monsters .. like how to kill werewolves, what vampires do, and how fast zombies should be.
A filmmaker has artistic license .. if he/she wants to tip the old
standards on their head then fine .. if they do it well.
I thought the Dawn remake had enough of the flair of the origional while adding a new dimention of its own.
For the Record I liked Tom Savini's remake of Night of the Living Dead too !

wicked man any films you like to be seen remade?
urgeok
10-26-2004, 08:29 AM
thats a tough call..
I think remakes should happen for 2 reasons only:
1) to improve on something that was done long ago. (using state of the art FX to enhance what would have been a good film before if they had the technology.
2) to pay homage to a good film.
I think Peter Jacksons King Kong will be in the 1st case and Dawn of the Dead is in the second.
I like a well done horror remake either way because it keep the genre alive.
Now the kicker for me is that low budget horror doesnt need to be remade because often its the amateurish look that makes it effective.
MAybe Cronenbergs Scanners .... I'd like to see a 'remake' of that - or at least a quality version of it just to reawaken the series in a positive way. (I loved the origional ...)

(I do have the 1st Dollman though i think) Wow...I wish that I would have read this when you were new...I made almost this EXACT same post in a 'Full Moon Video' thread (actually, 2 threads), months ago...When Avenger was still here...The difference in MY post was that I didn't actually give up until 'Killjoy'...I outlasted you quite a bit...lol...So, I DO have all of the Puppetmasters and Demonic Toys....
I wanted SOOO much for Full Moon to turn around and get back to the way they were (Subspecies...*sigh*)...Waiting for a new one to come out was a high point in my miserable existance...lol...Seriously, though, we really DID look forward to them, and got all excited when we saw that they were making something new...I still remember the 'Castle Freak' previews...So much excitement.......Then they just started getting shittier and shittier...'Prison Of the Dead'...'The Dead Hate The Living'...'Creeps' (OMG, That was just HIDEOUS...Oh, but 'Hideous' wasn't THAT bad)...lol...
Still, we held onto our faith and truly believed that SOMEDAY they would be again, what they once were...But, alas...'Killjoy' was released.......
There comes a time when no matter how much you love something, or how good it makes you feel, you just have to say "FUCK IT"...'Killjoy' showed us, that it was that time.........Killjoy killed all of our joy, for all Full moon videos thereafter, forever and ever..... :(
Damn...I STILL can't believe how fucking much ASS that movie SUCKED!!!
We threw it in the garbage.....

Heh heh, Hi Urgeok !
Being sort of a noob, I'm just checking out topics here and there.
I like your introduction;) I'm a huge Zombie movie fan myself, particularly the likes of Fulci, De Ossorio, "Burial Ground" - anything in that vein.
I'm impressed by your 8000+ movies - I wish I had a whole room to dedicate to movies/books...
My 4-year-old loves Spongebob as well. And I also have to stay up late to watch anything but kiddie movies:D
