Man Confesses To Killing, Decapitating Workmate
YAMAGATA -- A man under arrest for injuring a friend said he had murdered one of his workmates, leading police to discover a headless body in a paddy field.
Police plan to charge company employee Seiichi Kurita, 55, from Kaneyama, Yamagata Prefecture, with murder and the illegal abandonment of a body.
"I killed him and buried his body around October last year," officers quoted Kurita as saying. "I later dug up the head and buried it in my garden."
Based on his confession, officers found the victim's decomposed body in a rice paddy in Shinjo, and the head, also decomposed, near his house on Saturday.
One of Kurita's colleagues from Shinjo went missing last October, and his family filed a missing person's report with police.
Before making the confession, Kurita had been arrested for assaulting his friend.
