I don't know how many of you know about this film, but I just saw the trailer and it looks pretty cool. Christian Bale plays a lathe operator who is dying from insomnia, and the movie gets crazier from there...
I for one am going to see this...

Bale lost over 1/3 of his body weight for this movie. He looks vaccu-formed in the trailers

I heard somewhere that he weighs more for Batman than he did before The Machinist. That's fucking crazy

if you like Bale (and i do .. fine actor) here are 2 very different films to check out.
Empire of the Sun : its a Speilberg film about a british boy who ends up in a Japanese concentration camp in WWII. Great film
Equilibrium : a futuristic film that is a combination of Brave New World and Farenheit 451 with a bit of Matrix thrown in.
It's influenced by these things but its a completely unique film.
I highly recommend this movie to everyone here.
Its relatively unknown .. it slipped through the radar somehow - but it blew me away when i saw it.
Bale was also the racist asshole badguy in the Shaft remake a few years back.

Bale is awesome. He's one of many reasons I'm looking forward to Batman Begins as much as I am. And yeah, Equilibrium kicked ass, and has one of my favorite death scenes (and my favorite villain death) in any movie ever.
But he's fucking awesome, like Oscar-type, in this.

I saw in it Boston a few weeks back. Terrific movie.
It's a bit slow and really requires some thinking for it to get really interesting and scary, but if you're willing to put a little into it, you'll get a lot out.

Yeah, I saw the trailer for this film last night. It looks tremendous. I usually can't be bothered with Batman films (except the first one) but Bale is a great actor and I am definitely interested in the next Batman film.

Bale should've gotten an Oscar nom. for this. Fuck Johnny Depp Don Cheadle (even though I've not seen Hotel Rwanda or Finding Neverland, but I want all the nominations Aviator can get, Foxx is winning anyways and I can't say fuck Eastwood), give the nomination to Bale
