View Full Version : What's the 1 horror movie you've watched the most?

Even though I don't personally keep count, I would have to say Night of the Living Dead (original). I've watched it every year on Halloween (since I was 14 - which adds up to 15 times, just on Halloweens), and have seen it countless other times throughout the other parts of the years. This is, to me, the perfect horror film.

Is that the Wes Craven film with the guy who has the sunglasses? I saw it Wal-Mart for supercheap, but was too stingy to buy it.

Sorry. I knew it was one of those two ... the "C" threw me. So, should I buy it? Give me the sales pitch.

It’s a great B style movie, in fact not just great, but the best!

It’s a John Carpenter movie

It’s got Roddy Piper

It’s got the longest fist fight on film

It’s got music by John Carpenter

It’s got George “Buck” Flower in his best role

Aliens you can only see when your wearing shades (I mean that right there, makes it fantastic B movie stuff)

Great opening speech from the blind preacher!

It has the line “I have come to chew bubblegum and kick ass … and I’m all out of bubble gum”

… THIS MOVIE RULES …

Without a doubt, House on Haunted Hill Remake

I lost cout awhile back...but since I saw it early in the summer just past....Ive watched it at least...um...I was @ 7 when I lost count...prolly between 3-5 times since that...

So in not quite 4 months (Just a guess, I dont know the exact date) Ive seen it between 10-15 (Plus 1 with the commentary) times. I know damn near ever line in it, but I still love it. Definatly earns itz place in the multi way tie for my fave. horror of all time. Def. the best in the last 5 years. IMO:cool:

the movies i have seen countless times...

halloween (probably my favorite)
nightmare on elm. st.
evil dead 1 and 2

i go to sleep while watching these movies quite often :)

and about they live... i own that movie.. it's not too bad... acting is pretty cheesy but it's an entertaining flick... if you've seen the masters of the universe movie, it's got the chick that played evil lynn

another movie.. if i owned it... would be monster squad... however i can only rent it... and only in tape.. for one, they don't make it on dvd... two, it's expensive as hell on tape.. like 40 dollars or something ...
ghostbusters 1 and 2 i've also watched about a billion times each... there was a 2 month period where i watched ghostbusters everynight... it was a little over a year ago... ah well

Final Destination 2 -- one of the best of the last 5 years, lots of gore, lots of laughs, lots of Tony Todd.

The Ring -- Just realized I havent watched it in while, but I used to watch it almost everyday. Very scary.

American Psycho -- Perfection. So hilarious and amazing.

Scream -- Very easy to watch, kind of gory and just fun.

I have to admit that the horror movie that I have watched the most is SCREAM! And I pretty much know it word for word.

I know that it was made for the masses, but hell it is still a cool movie with some mad lines it...

eg. "Why do you want to know my name"

"Coz I wanna know who I'm looking at!"

Even if I am not totally watching it, I will still put it on and listen to it while I am doing other stuff.

Second would have to be Urban Legend.

I've watched Romeros Dead trilogy probably more than any other horror, although Evil Dead 2 and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) are also frequent flyers.

Reservoir Dogs I watch religiously but the horror film that I have been watching over and over is From Hell, I have my reasons but am not ready to reveal them yet, lets just say that i have a love affair with Jack the Ripper.

couldnt put a figure on an individual film, but I guess US Werewolf in London, The Thing, The Fog and EvilDead would probably be in the right order of most watched.

Okay ... I have to ask. What is fuckin' great about The Fog? I mean, I own a copy ... but only saw the need to watch it once. I thought it was pretty dull. But, ShankS, I know you love this movie ... so you're on the defense! Why do you like it so damn much??

it's a kid thing. I was 8 or 9 when I first saw it, and my love for this film has stuck. The errie soundtrack, the atmosphere and of course, the actual suspence the rolling fog brings with it. As a kid I used to love walking through the park on foggy mornings.

the horror movies iv'e seen the most have to be Halloween H20 = 6 Scream = 8 (not my fault it's one i watch when im bored, you got to admit thier are some good killing shot) and Freddy vs Jason = 11 oh yeah and TCM Remake = 14 but a non horror movie that i have seen would be Terminator 2: Judgement Day = 21 but still my favorite movie overall is Kaante = 47 a hinglish version of Reservoir Dogs.

If Ghostbusters counts, it's by far my most-watched. Otherwise, I think it may be a toss-up between Halloween, House on Haunted Hill (original), and the Evil Dead trilogy. Black Sabbath may be up there too.

And I also think that the Fog is really great.

That's a tough tuff question....I think it would be a toss-up between "Night of the Living Dead" and "Bride of Frankenstein"...I did see the first "Poltergeist" 11 times when it was in the theatres, though...I liked it so much after the first time that I came back the next day and stayed in the cinema the whole day, etc., really stretching that ticket money. It scared the hell outta me! It really did! I liked it.

EvilEd
10-23-2004, 02:01 AM
I'd say its a toss up between Evil Dead II and Jaws.

And yes, Jaws is a Horror movie. ;)
