Hi everyone,
I've been reading these forums for a while and finally got to registering.
I like silly horror movies like Evil Dead 2, Dead Alive, Frankenhooker, and such.
As a teen I was too scared to watch horror, but now I am catching up.
I like the Evil Dead series, Dawn of the Dead/Return of the Living Dead zombie movies, Suspiria, Serial Mom (John Waters fan!), also Phantom of the Paradise, and Phantasm.
I love rock, punk, glam and new wave. I play in an all girl punk band.
Most recently I was blown away by Wild Zero a great and cheezy Japanese schlock/zombie/rock n'roll / ufo invasion movie starring rockers Guitar Wolf. Just released in the U.S. on DVD last week.
Also Bubba Hotep, the mummy movie directed by Don Coscarelli (Phantasm) starring Bruce Campbell as Elvis. Bruce is my fave!

Yeah Bubba Hotep was very cool, though it was a lot more than a horror movie it had some genuinely deep and sad moments too, reflections on aging. It takes place in an old folks home. Bruce was a riot as Elvis! The performances were amazing and i had the added treat of Bruce being present at the screening to do a Q and A. He is just so cool! If you haven't read his book yet i totally recommend it.
As for Frankenhooker I definitely recommend it to all who haven't seen it yet, it is a great laugh and plenty of cheezy gore.

I think loud rock and roll shows are the cause of my loss of hearing. They're still ringing from a show I attended over the weekend. I must remember to wear earplugs!

live shows tend to do that, last years inferno festival kept my ears ringing a week.
