Well...not REALLY....
I just had a dream that lead me to wonder what death will be like.
NO, I'm not refering to "what comes after" death, as that'll raise nothing but WAY too many opinions, and it's been done before.

Im referring of the exact moment of transition of life into death.
What do you guys think you'll see, feel or experience...think about it, it'll be the last thing we're likely to ever experience, and it's garaunteed to be unlike anything we've yet encountered...

What are your thoughts?

i would think this question would hinge on the manner of one's death.

I believe that there will probably be a lot of fear at first. Then after that passes i think that it will be the most relaxed and clear you will ever be. It is probably pretty damn cool........I dunno why dont you try it and get back to me LOL:D :D

I think about that a lot lately for many reasons. My perception of it is it's more likely to hurt like hell.

Hurt? No -

Simply switching off; no more thoughts.... bye bye, thoughts - cya!

Whoops, can't know there are no thoughts - cos that means thinking...

Needs further research.

Well what I meant is whichever way I die, I'm almost guaranteed it's gonna hurt. After that we'll just have to see...

I imagine ill be thinking "are these my last words? do i have nothing more to say".....

I saw that in an anime once and it really hit home for some reason.....

"Are these my last words? or is ARE THESE MY LAST WORDS my last words, or how about THESE words????
:p

I don't think it'll hurt all THAT much, I'm almost sure you'll realise its about to happen/happening...I DON'T think it'll be an INSTANT transfer...maybe the VERY last moment will be like that tho...?
Will you lose any senses first do you think?
Will the death itself be preempted by you wondering why you can't hear or see all of a sudden?

...so many possibilities.
I'm not looking foward to dying, but then again, in death I can find the knowledge that eludes me in life...at least I'll know, or, not know...I guess at least I'll stop wondering...I am rather eager to have the EXPERIENCE of death, not knowing what comes after, I cannot say I look foward to the "being dead" part...

Brilliant

as for the question, I'd prefer to think my exact moment of death would involve me thinking "Man, I couldn't possibly take anymore oral sex from these 37 asian porn stars"

My last words will probably be 'Hey fellas watch this.' Seriously I think it is just a transition into another life and I think it will be an interesting trip. My only hope is that I finish the things the Gods want me to do here.

Nope, i saw it in probably my favorite anime Berserk.....this guy was trying to say he loves his female friend and he had never told her and all that came out was...

"You cry alot when you're alone, dont you?"

Then it shows his point of view fading back, and he thinks in his head "just a few simple words.....is that it? Are these my last words?"

Steve_Hutchison

My bro has the Berserker box set. He's a big fan. I watched the first episode like a week ago.

As for moving on to another kind of life, I kind of lost that hope. I think we just rot. Seriously, my view of things : people don't want to die; people make up stories and try to convince themselves because as far as we know, death is the end.

what if someone sneaks up behind you and shoots you in the head?
what i would like to know is. what was going through a guys head in N.Y who was in a high rise office building talking to his work mates about how strong the windows are. so he decided to test them by running and jumping into one. cause they were suppose to withstand someone doing such a thing. anywho needless to say it didn't. the window poped out and the man fell something like 30 floors to his death. anywho. i would love to know what was going through his head as he fell to his death.

I asked the following question to my grandmother who has strong religious beliefs and didn't really like her answer : do dogs have a soul (or whatever you want to call it)? what about lizards? bees? germs? trees? viruses?

I want to hear your opinions on this one please.

Arioch
10-14-2004, 02:28 PM
I believe anything that can feel and/or express emotions has a soul...

Arioch
10-14-2004, 05:38 PM
Except my ex and her mother. LMAO!!!

Just because their soul is tarnished beyond repair by manipulation, deciet, pettiness, and unrealistic expectations, doesn't mean its not there;)

Although i doubt it can do them much good....

i read an awsome story about this subject, i think it was called "an occurance at owl creek bridge". it was about a man who was going to be hanged, and as they drop him, the rope breaks. he gets away, and has a really exciting adventure in which he comes to grip with his life. at the climax of the story, the rope snaps tight and breaks his neck. it all takes place in his mind.

i don't know...but isuppose they do. does the bible say anything about it?...well anywho i would say they do.. cause they say heaven is perfection, and maybe for some it wouldn't be perfect if their fav pet weren't there with them.

It would be egocentric to think that only humans have a soul. In my opinion, all living organism either have one or don't. My grandmother says humans can end up in paradise. But when I ask her if bugs do, she says no. She says the same thing about animals. God must be really evil.

EXTR3MIST

Yes, the idea of a "soul" - say we consider such a thing exists for a moment - being exclusive to human beings is fanciful, ideallistic thinking from those who consider us to be so unique among species that we must continue our superior existence into the afterlife (where lesser, soulless species of course cannot venture).

Imagine Heaven without animals...?

Man's ego will be the last thing to die, I think!

And suppose we come from the monkey... when exactly did we get a soul during the process?

Vodstok
10-15-2004, 04:20 AM
Cool....Dinosaurs in heaven, then...:D

For the record, evolution doesnt say we came from monkeys or apes. it does, however, say that we probably came from a common ancestor that resembles a lemur.

And chimps are not monkeys...

last week (on the ol' honeymoon), we were at the franklin park zoo in boston (sad sad saaaad, pathetic place. dont go...) and we were looking at tyhe gorillas, and this lady come up with her kid "Hey honey! look at the monkeys! wake to the monkeys!"......

I called her an ignorant twat under my breath and bree decided we should move on before i choked the stupid bitch... read a fucking book, you may learn something....
