send a copy to the WGA. www.wga.org. For a small fee (about $24.00) They will register it. Then you can start to send out your scripts to producers. That way you are protected from someone trying to steal your ideas.

You haven't mentioned who your investor is or where they can be reached.

I work with several funds. The funds have investors from across the nation. They join films as executive producers or co-producers depending on the project.

My job is to find new ideas and sccripts. The projects that have promise, I turn over to the the lead producer of the funds. If the partners are interested, they put up the money and a film is made.

If you have a script you are looking to take into productions, first submit it to the WGA to protect your rights, then please send me a final draft or PDF, or word doc to rick@rickthompson.com

That's all fine and dandy, but I'd like to mention that nobody here knows who you are either. Basically you've just given an e-mail address for people to send scripts to. Sorry if I might sound a little cynical, but that's kinda fucked up. I work in horror indies myself and I would never send anything blindly to some unknown person/persons or company and I hope that nobody else here would either. You haven't represented yourself, nor this "rick" person in any capacity to have any credability whatsoever. I'd have to strongly suggest for anyone reading this thread to NOT submit any written materials to you or "rick" at this point. Sorry.

A producer with private money is looking to produce a film and is looking for new talent. As a writer, if you register with WGA, you protect yourself and your script. Your more than a little cynical. As a writer, you need to get your script out in the hands of anyone that might be able to green light your film. I might be a crack head blowing smoke up everyone's ass. Or I might work with a producer that has a track record of films, access to funds, and a distribution deal.

Take a chance, send a script. Again my email address is rick@rickthompson.com or mail a hard copy to: Rick Thompson, Autumn Entertainment, 100 Universal City Plaza, Building 6128, Universal City, CA 91602

What's your track record with films, if I might ask ? So far all I've seen is a web site for a real estate dealer. I do happen to have a few scripts myself (hoping to shoot one this winter in the Chicagoland area if all goes well), but still don't see why I would send them. Skeptical, yes, but also a stickler for details.

I work for a division of "The Syndicate" (IMDB The Syndicate [us]), a production company with offices on the lot of Universal Studios. Our production deal is with Universal. We output thru fox, regent, rs, and others.

Our films are: Pit Fighter, Unbeatable Harold, Chasing Ghosts, and Ghost Game.

Pit Fighter complete and is thru fox/regent and will be released first of next year. (check IMDB)

Unbeatable Harold is in Post. (check IMDB)

Chasing ghosts is in Post. (Check IMDB)

Ghost Game is in production. (will post to IMDB when in Post)

We also have films in pre production and are looking for new scripts and directors.

Some of the talent we have worked with: Dylan McDermott, Henry Winkler, Gladys Knight, Taryn Manning, Phyllis Diller, Dominique Vandenberg, Steven Bauer, Stephen Graham, Michael Madsen, Meat Loaf, Michael Rooker, Danny Trejo, Gary Busey, etc.

IMDB didn't have anything for "The Syndicate" (except for a few old movies).

It must of pulled up films by that name instead of company credits. Try this:

http://imdb.com/List?production-companies=The%20Syndicate%20%5Bus%5D&&tv=on&&heading=18;produced+by;The%20Syndicate%20%5Bus%5D

Or pull up of our films: pit fighter (2004), unbeatable harold (2005) or chasing ghosts (2005)

Hate to sound like a broken record, but the IMDB link for "The Syndicate" doesn't work.

goto IMDB and Pull up:

pit fighter, chasing ghosts, and unbeatable harold. Syndicate is listed under company credits.

ahh off to the left hand side. When I click on The Syndicate, it just lists the movies again. Oh well. Good luck with your script hunting. Are you looking for features exclusively ?

Here's a question: Do you only shoot WGA, SAG films? I have a script with some non-union talent interested in it. One of them is somewhat of a name, but has only worked in foriegn markets and has never joined SAG. SHe is in the US now and likes the screenplay and would like to play a supporting role. It's a suspense/drama with a supernatural element and written specifically to be shot on a lower budget. That is, it has few locations and a small set of main characters.

I think Wendy works for WGA. As for the syndicate there are real, I had a few of my films sent and they are legit.
They made some critiques and are on the up and up!
