Am I the only one here to get those kind of nightmares? Not only do my nightmares loop (I keep trying to do the same thing all night, I figure 40 times from dusk till dawn), but every night, it's the same type of nightmare : I'm stuck in one place, surrounded by people who've been there much longer than I have. They're either hunchbacks or "siamesed" surgically, if you can picture that. The feeling I get during the whole nightmare is that I'm going to end up like them if I don't get out.

It is very annoying and I feel it disturbs my day once I woke up. It's like every night.

OMG!...DUDE!...You are spending WAY too much time at Horror.Com!...Don't you see that?....You are here before you go to sleep...You are surrounded by people that have been here much longer than you...We are all a bunch of freaks and weirdos, and if you stay here much longer you WILL become one of us! :) ...Your dream is obviously a warning...But, I'm afraid that it's already too late for you...

"Relax" said the Nightman, "We are programmed to receive...You can check out any time you like...But you can NEVER leave..."
--------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I'm obviously joking...However I DID see a parallel...

But, seriously...I have dabbled in dream interpretation, and since this is a recurring dream, and I would guess very vivid (feels real when you are dreaming it?)....It is a "replay" dream based on your daily life...This has to do with your job, your family, or friends...Something is happening to you involving one of these 3 groups of people...There is something that you disagree with, but feel that you have to go along with...Perhaps these people are trying to change your view about something...This close to the election, it's possible that one of these groups is trying to persuade you to vote in a manner that you normally wouldn't, OR it could also be that someone is trying to convince you to change your religion...These are just examples of what it MAY be...But, one way or another, someone is trying to get you to accept something that you are relunctant to accept because it goes against your way of thinking...Could it be some company policy that you strongly disagree with?...One way or another, as long as you escape in the dream, you will stay strong and resist in your real life...

Although the characters in your dream are freaky, they are still people...No animalike creatures, or alien entities, no 'monsters'...So, the problem that you are having is DEFINITELY about people...

I also checked the dream books, and the only part of your dream that I could actually reference was the part about hunchbacks (It would freak you out if you knew what kind of random shit is in dream books)...It says that the dream is a warning about impending drastic changes and some difficulties ahead because of it...It also says to steer clear of gossip, don't listen to it, and don't spread it...It could cause you more problems than you realize

Couldn't find anything about Siamese Twins, though (manufactured or otherwise)...I even looked up 'freaks'...Nothing on that either...Sorry...That's the best I can do...

Or it could all just be because you watch too many horror movies:p ...Have you seen 'Freaks', 'Sideshow','Something Wicked This Way Comes' Or 'Carnival Of Souls' recently?:D

Hey thanks for the interpretation Bloodrayne!
As you guessed, they feel real. They feel so real that I stay in the same mood as my dream until I get to work or start doing something that requires productivity.

They started I think after I got out of the hospital after a psychosis last summer (2003). When you mentioned that, perhaps, people were trying to change my view about something, it rang a bell. I take medication. Everything is almost back to normal now, but I'm constantly aware that I could drop sick again if, for instance, someone I love died. That haunts me. Another thing sort of gave me the chills recently. I was having a religious "debate" with my mother and grandmother, and they are both considered sane. They started telling me they've often heard of dead people coming back as ghosts to see people they used to know, who were really close to them. My grandmother then told me for the first time she actually saw her mother shortly after her death. She would've come and visit her. Before my psychosis, I would've semi-believed it. But the fact that they admit those things exists, after being the ones who constantly repeated to me what I was going through had nothing to do with paranormal while I was being hospitalized makes me confused. At the time, I had foreseen my father (family, you could be right!)’s death shortly before I learned he had a cancer. It’s things like that I’m really not comfortable with I think.

I think my social life is fine, work could be better (all these contracts, no stable job). Elections, well I couldn’t care less (:. I’m Canadian but all this war gets to me, not at the point where it would affect my nightmares tough.

Company policy : I mostly work for my own company so the clients and I make the policies. I’m ok with that.

The people in my dreams are sometimes evil, sometimes victims. Either way, I never want to get involved with them and there’s always a good reason for it. Something I forgot to mention is I do martial arts. In my dreams, I constantly try to find my sword, otherwise I can’t do some required beating. That comes back a lot.

Like I said, I used to believe in the paranormal. It has to exist because it’s the science of tomorrow. I used to believe in prediction but I’m reluctant to even think about it now. So that part of dream analysis that foresees the future is kind of creepy to me (It says that the dream is a warning about impending drastic changes and some difficulties ahead because of it...It also says to steer clear of gossip, don't listen to it, and don't spread it...It could cause you more problems than you realize). I’ll be careful tough.

And “Siamese”, well that’s the closest word I could come up with to describe what they look like. They’re more like human parts stitched together where someone made sure to cut out the right parts so they could still live to suffer. Err. Creepy.

Thanks again for the help. I don’t know what in my lifestyle I should change but I’ll keep working on it!

Oh!! P.S. got anything in your book for those dreams where you constantly try to achieve the same goal all night? You may even wake up, smoke a cigarette, then go back to sleep only to realize it keeps on looping. Trying to find my sword in a chaotic world would be the perfect example.

WOW...Thank You...That was MUCH more informative...

This is DEFINITELY about your family...They are stressing you out, but they don't mean to...They have the best of intentions but they aren't "like you"...You love them, but you don't want to be "like them"...The way that you described the "siamese twins", is very important, because it doesn't matter what they really are, it only matters how YOU "see" them...They represent a desire in you...You are seeking some sort of perfection, you are satisfied with the progress you have made, BUT not completely satisfied, you still feel like you could accomplish more, if only you tried hard enough, but you aren't sure how to do this...It is affecting you WAY more than you realize, so you have to lighten up on yourself...Accept some things for what they are...

The 'sword' that you are seeking in your dream, is the answer that you are looking for in real life...In your dream, your sword solves your problem, eliminates the threat...In real life, an answer to the question, "What more can I do?" would solve your problems...

The inability to locate your sword when you need it the most, is symbolic of frustration and helplessness...

You turn to your family for help, answers, solutions...But, they don't know what you need either

You have to go easier on yourself...Lighten up...Take things one day at a time...Realize that there IS no answer...You are doing all that you can, and that is always enough...There is no true "perfection"...You have to love yourself a little...

Yeah...I know...It's all sappy and shit...But, that's what I got out of it...It wouldn't hurt to give it a try

Oops...I missed this part...But, it's basically the same thing...Frustration, Seeking answers to unanswerable questions...Fear of failing to achieve your goals...and it is REALLY getting to you...

Again...Lighten up, Sweetie ;)

I haven't been alseep in nearly two days, that may have something to do with it. Funny that you mention nightmares, because I too am having realisk nightmares. But I already know why, so I don't have to both poor Clarice with the details. I wonder how their fingers are feeling after all that typing? Normaly dreams never really bother me, good or bad. But when it's the same fucking dream repeatedly going over, and over, and over again. God thats just enough to drive me insane...er.

I used to have recurring nightmares when I was being homeschooled...I would have nightmares every night that I had to go back to public school! :(
It happened pretty much EVERY night, until somewhere around after I graduated...then they finally stopped, thankfully. It felt so real...and I'd wake up thinking I really had to go back to school.

That's the only kind of recurring dream/nightmare I've ever really had, I think... but it was terrible. That really was my worst nightmare...just thinking of having to go back to that hell! I'm suprised I haven't had many nightmares about work...It's not much better. :o

Thanks again Bloodrayne. I'll see how I can improve my situation. You were very helpful. I hope one day we can find out more about dreams. They are as mysterious and need answers just like all those existential questions. Hoping not to sound to negative, let's hope what comes after death doesn't ressemble your nightmares. That'd be fucked! (:

Well there is one bad thing about nice dreams, and the equivalent for nightmares : when you wake up from a really cool dream, steping back into reality can feel shitty. But when you wake up from a nightmare, you gotta love your reality.

True...I hate good dreams because they aren't real and I always wish they were. I never love my reality...but yeah, it is a relief to wake up from a nightmare and realize you were just dreaming.

The weirdest thing that happened to me in that sense is dreaming I was making a new girlfriend, only to wake up at my girlfriend's sides. Felt like cheating :/

A fucking greed. Plus its cool to wake up to relief of a big adrenaline rush and have your heart still pounding. But the worst is having a really really good dream and then you reach over your bed or to look at what happened and nothing has changed. That is always a bummer :(

I have a skeleton bride in my room and it trips me out at night. But if you watch enough horror movies the nightmares start to fade..

Trust me...You don't want to do it MY way...It involves having your heart broken :(

Once the blood stimulation starts kicking up again, they would be good as new, instead of living, hafe decayed freaks. Again, trust me on this.

Everybody dreams, most dont remember them when they wake. I dream all the time and try to keep a notebook of all the dreams I have. I have trained myself to wake up after a dream and write it down right away otherwise you forget too many details.

I think sometimes it is questionable what is a dream and what is a reality, me being here typing this right now may just be a dream state and what I think is my dream state may be a reality. A philosphical discussion should be taking place any moment now or am I just dreaming that it is?

I keep having this same dream but with different people in it.

Im lying in bed, she rolls over looks me in the eyes and says I love you. Without flinching I reach for what seems to be a very convenient butcher knife and stab her in the chest until I wake up.

Heard that theory before. I'd give it more thoughts if the average person slept 12/24h instead of 8.

imy parents used to fight and argue alot when i was a kid and for years, i dreamed about a man chasing me around my house and through woods. in the end he would kill me and i would wake up screaming. this lasted for about five years, almost every night.
on another note;

Bloodrayne

If you can help me with this one, i would appreciate it.
in college, i had this dream. im walking down a city street at night, i am alone, the wind is blowing. suddenly, i see these huge whales that look like they are made out of black, gooey tar, dancing down the street towards me. they are swinging around light poles like fred astaire, and they start doing handstands. except that when they do, their tails become their heads, and their heads become their tails. and they dance, and frolic closer and closer to me, and it freaks me out. then that part of the dream ends. the next thing i know, im standing in the college chowhall getting a tray of food, and i go to sit down nut i see stephen king sitting at the table next to me. i know that he doesnt want to be bothered, so i try not to look at him. then he looks up at me and says, billy, come here, i want to tell you something. so i join him, and he says, i want you to remember these three things. 1. your father loves you. 2. i cant remember what he says, sorry bloodrayne. 3. the whales are not what they seem. then i woke up. this has preplexed me for years, and i still dont know what the whales are. if you could help me i woulb appreciate it.
