Premonition (DVD)

Premonition (DVD)
Didn't they know I don't want to see this movie again?

Yep, it's on DVD now — the movie I really wish I could go back in time and un-watch — much like Sandra Bullock's character, harried housewife Linda Hanson (Sandra Bullock) who is devastated when her husband (Julian McMahon) is killed in a car crash. But when she wakes up the next morning and Jim is there as if nothing had ever happened, Linda realizes the terrible day may have actually been a premonition and decides that she might have an opportunity to redirect fate.

Here is Horror.com's entire review of the Premonition theatrical release

The Premonition DVD presupposes we want to see a lot of stuff about the movie, so there are a lot of extras. There are deleted scenes and alternate ending with optional commentary; a gag reel (with a few jokes involving the dead bird… it even shows the actors "eating crow", which I found appropriate); and an obligatory making-of featurette. Bullock talks about how she got involved in this movie; that she was looking not for a horror movie, but something scary. She found the puzzle of how to work the phenomenon of premonition into a drama. She keeps saying "U-Turn" (Was she in that movie? Or did she get a ticket from a traffic cop?).

Bringing Order to Chaos: This is a really good featurette, though it does contain major spoilers. So be sure and save it till after you have watched the movie (which really isn't that bad; it's just bland and it has an annoying religious message shoehorned in). Bringing Order to Chaos is a condensed look at the movie from start to finish showing Linda's week from Sunday through Saturday, as it actually happened — not, as shown in the movie — through a certain character's eyes. The director, the affable Mennan Yapo, sets it up and narrates it.

Commentary with Director Mennan Yapo and Producer/Actor Sandra Bullock: At first, the pair starts off by stating the obvious ("Here is the TriStar logo." "I like the way the letters in the titles appear out of order." "This is a montage of her everyday life." "I love these overhead shots.") but they finally move beyond that. Bullock as a producer has a different perspective, plus she talks from an actorly place.  Bullock found the script first, then brought on Yapo, and they collaborated on finding the key cast members. Yapo says he worked heavily with story boards, because, "How do you shoot continuity in a movie with the days all out of order?"

Real Premonitions: Waking Dreams, and Seeing The Future. This documentary talks about people who have foreseen explosions, attacks, accidents, disasters and murders. Nobody sees anybody getting a pony or finding a quarter in the parking lot. There's a mention of the movie, but this featurette is mostly about true-life precognitive people.
