Year of the Dog comin' up here in a coupla weeks...gonna be a local parade goin' on and costumes are encouraged...any y'all gotta werewolf mask I could borrow?
There's the Whaley House and El Campo Santo Cemetery within blocks of each other in San Diego.

Had a little birthday party for one of the grandkids yesterday. Sometimes there can be nothing more horrifying than the mess left afterwards.....

I somewhat disliked Pat because she reminded me of someone’s boss. I also loved her because, when she spoke, she still used words like “mightn’t” and “chagrined”, as she did when she said to me, “You know what? I’m gonna chew Lorna a new hole. Again, she didn’t remember to close the transom on the Ladies when she closed last night. It looks so unfinished to me.” And then, “You know, I saw you chewin' the lips offa Rosa Tahntoon last night. That trollop mightn’t like you so much without the twenty and drinks you rolled at her. The sight of it all left me chagrined.” Pat had managed to irk me on a Thursday at 8:47 in the morning, just a mere 17 minutes since Bobby’s had opened, and when I had a hangover that would have killed most living things. I don’t know if it was my condition, the annoying skip on the Fred Waring 45 in the juker, or the fact that Pat was spewing this diatribe with breath that would smelt iron ore, but I lost composure for an amount of time. My energy lasted only long enough to allow me to shout, “Pat, you have such class, and you are a veritable fount of pleasantry. However, I am somewhat, but not entirely, chagrined that you have not trotted your cottage cheese over here and poured me another Pabst and an Irish Rose sider!” She sauntered over, poured me like she didn’t own it and wisped, “You still ain’t paid your tab. Prick.” I pondered things like children’s cereals and being electrocuted by a toaster. I lit a soggy Kool that I had found in the parking lot . It felt like Death was walking my dog. It was gonna be a good day.

OK.....So first things first....y'all seen the count on active members? ....

But anyway...Obsessed with the macabre and thinkin' 'bout what ta do this summer....here's what I came up with.....one, check some local haunted places....and two, visit some sites named after the devil.

So locally (by that I mean 50 miles or so as the crow flies) there's a geological formation called Devil's Gap and there's a ghost called the Camas Watchman at this other location.

Plus out on the OR. coast there's a place I've always wanted to go called The Devil's Punch Bowl.

What the Lino Says Back to Me at 3:00 AM

Overheard at Shemmie’s aka (There's Something in Your Bluebird)

Spee Ungle swore to me that he overheard elements of a conversation that would titillate and amuse. I was annoyed by the globs of sweat on his forehead as he informed, “I slept like a dog last night.”

He hoisted his pilsner to his lips as I provided a rejoinder. “You’re saying that you were sleeping all lonesome and afraid with a relentless hard-on. Cryssakes, Spee. I can remember when your words could still talk, and now you’ve come to this. It’s' log', not 'dog', you fuck. By the way, some passersby were heard saying things about you and the corsair.”

Spee pulled up some spine and opined with his breath and his lips and his pieces-of-corn teeth. All too close and rubbing up against he said,

“The corsair and the whispering mad-house effect, and then they tell ya that ya gotta go. She never thought. She never remembered my time in the whispering place. For the love of all that is holy, my mind allots too much time to itself. No thinking is better. Heart is better. Life will always chase itself like the puppy and her tail.”

I pulled hard into my toasted cheese on wheat and considered casket linings for the rich.

I think the forum really took a hit from shutting down twice like it did.
