Does your family like horror, too?

If so...Are their tastes different from yours?

Our family's favorites (I took this from a post here over a year ago, so it's a bit dated now...I updated it a little) :

Dustin: Dead End, Dead And Breakfast, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Dawn Of The Dead (original), Return Of The Living Dead, Langoliers

Seri: Thirteen Ghosts, Poltergeist, Rose Red, The Ring...She prefers the ghostly stuff

Alex: Ju-on, Ju-On 2, Infection, Dream Cruise (Takashi Miike), Evil dead, Evil Dead 2, Army Of Darkness, Gates Of Hell, Bad Taste, Salem's Lot, One Missed Call, One Missed Call 2 (he has part 3 and the remake, but hasn't had time to watch them yet...I'm sure that part 3 will be added to this list, I'm also sure that he won't like the remake as much as the original...That's what happened with Ju-On, Dark Water and Ringu)...He likes Japanese ghost movies the most

Jordon: Nightmare On Elm Street, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Child's Play, Saw, Saw 2, Saw 3, Are You Scared?

Ash: He'll sit and watch anything that's fast-paced and colorful, he especially likes the movies that have a metal soundtrack...The kid LOVES metal

As for me...I love WAY too many of them...I couldn't even BEGIN to name favorites...But, I tend to lean toward the zombies more than anything else

My mom only likes psychological thrillers, especially with serial killers like Silence of the Lambs. My dad, not at all, he calls it "that creepy stuff". My husband will like some action horror like Underworld, but nothing that's actually scary and definitely not any religious horror (he refuses to watch the Exorcist and freaked out when I got him to watch the first half of the Exorcism of Emily Rose).

Myself, I'm the only "weird" one. :D I'm just not big on the torture/dissection stuff, but the rest is all good. :)

My mother likes some comedy-horror, and stuff like battle royale/series 7, and the crime related stuff like se7en. Also into films like "in the mouth of madness" and vincent price stuff.
Not much into the 80's gorefests, but overall her taste was surprisingly good.

The young brother I kind've turned into a zombie enthusiast, also into some of the weirder asian stuff, uzumaki, versus...etc. He'll pretty much watch whatever though, still in a pretty exploratory phase.

The elder sister is hopefully dead someplace...that I can recall, she was into mainly comedy/girly crap, and pretentious flicks like"my own private idaho" and "reality bites" waaay too much. Ech.

The father, more into action/thriller, but likes alien based horror.

That's actually pretty cool...My mother's not into horror at all...However, she DOES watch a lot of true crime movies, and reads as many true crime books as she can get her hands on

And MY sister...Ugh...Her favorite movie will forever be 'Dirty Dancing' and she says that MY movies are 'sick'...She's a huge fan of the chick flicks...We are absolutely nothing alike in ANY way...Thank god

Yeah, that's another one I had to walk past (and keep walking) numerous times...

My mum likes horrors that take thought. Not the kind that are just 90 minutes of blood. The rest of my family find them boring.

My family can go fuck themselves.

For those that are in my life:
Lily is 2 and has a very active imagination, so she isnt into anything that isnt for kids right now, she gets herself worked up and scared too easily (I was the same way)

Bree likes horror. She was a freddy and jason girl when I met her, but she grew out o fthose and is more into stuff like the Descent, The Omen, The ring. Apparently a lot of movies with "The" in the title.

My mother In Law is awesome, she loves horror and action movies. She recommended Cloverfield to us, if that is any indication :)
