Little Otik AKA Otesanek (2000). Talk about a twisted fairy tales for adults! This wonderful movie is as deeply disturbing as it is funny. Some of the obtrusively close camera shots were almost squirmy, and the dinner scenes were splendidly gross. The dirty old man scenes were a riot. It has been a while since i have seen any stop-frame animation, and was taken aback at first. Having gotten over it i came to wish that there was more of it. There are just too many wonderful aspects to this flick which is a must for any horror fan whose tatses run toward the odd or surreal. The only universal complaint was that it was a was too long. Other than that, bueno. Ashe.

Ok, the beginning and the end of the journey was predictable; but what about all the stops along the way? Did you really foresee that fight scene? Did you see the graveyard scene or funeral scene coming? How about the nosebleed (hilarious)? I don't think this movie was trying to surprise you with where you ended up but more so with how you got there.

Great flick. I got to see that last year on the big screen; perfect 35mm print. And to sweeten the deal, Tom Holland sat right behind me during the whole thing, and I had a nice chat with him afterward. It was super great.

Trick 'r Treat (2008/2009)
![]() Delightful! The genre has been missing this kinda beautiful horror anthology for a long time. Enough of those slasher remakes & pointless sequels of SAW! Every year the fans actually need to have a film like this in Halloween. It's a fantastic anthology that spins five simple but great intertwined tales and all take place on Halloween night. Writer/director Michael Dougherty crafted the film very intelligently, the spookiness and fun are perfectly balanced. More or less he covered all the great elements of Horror & for all ages in this collection of horror. With such a nice cast like Brian Cox, Anna Paquin and Dylan Baker it delivered a splendid entertainment. I simply loved it and added to my schedule for Halloween Night Movies for every year from now on. For the effort & achievement I like to give it a straight..... >>: A Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002)
